I would have no problem with voter ID if it could be implemented fairly. Problem is, it's not. To start with, the cost and travel involved to get one make it prohibitive for some eligible voters (low income, disabled, elderly, rural areas...) Then there are states that unequally pick and choose what types of ID they will accept.

Voter fraud /impersonation is nowhere near as common a problem as the Alex Jones tinfoil hat brigade and the rhetoric from POTUS' fragile little snowflake ego would have you think.

"cost and travel".. name one Gov institution or benefit you don't need an ID for? You can't even enter a federal court building without ID.

This is just propaganda. Disadvantaged have no problem getting an ID to collect social security or disability but were supposed to believe they don't have an ID because it's too far to travel?

When was the last time you went to the hospital and didn't show a Gov id.

Haven't been to a hospital lately. It really is a pita to get a realid license. What if you don't drive a car? If you have an hourly job and need to take off to spend half a day in DMV? Different forms of ID are accepted for different things. You don't need it to collect social security.

Make it fair, solve the cost /accessibility issues, promote it enough that everyone is informed, then I have no problem with it.

Every country on earth has an ID specifically made for voting. The majority of those countries are much poorer than the US. The majority of the people in those poor countries don't have cars, or have much less public transportation than the US has. If those people can get voter ID there so can the US.

The only thing that is stopping a whole bunch of States from getting voter ID is the Democrats unwillingness to implement it, with the pathetic excuse of calling it Voter Suppression.

It's like so many Democrats and Liberal reporters saying that it's physically impossible to build a wall on the Mexican border. Hell, if Americans don't know how to build a wall, then ask the Israelis, or the Hungarians, or the Chinese, or even the Mexicans (they've built one along their southern border) As a last resort you can ask Madeira Island firms that will gladly build the wall... if the price is right.

Unfortunately, there are parts of the US where there IS a deeply ingrained history of racism and voter suppression. There's also the complexity of multiple states and voting regulations. States which have implemented voter id regulations have different things they accept as ID and they don't always make sense. I think it's WI where an active military ID is OK but a veterans is not. Some states accept a student ID, others do not. So there's the challenge of being fair in places with a history of issues and the complexity of getting everyone on the same page.

As for the wall, stupid waste of money.
