the news media has tainted everything into soundbites like he is a monster.

A losing candidate on an apology tour. Ridiculous. The Clintons were born with teflon skin. Nothing will ever stick. lol.

Media did the same to Reagan, called him senile, etc.

#41, defamed his manhood, called him weak, milk toast, etc despite being a great athlete, jet pilot, etc.

#43 was a drunk, when that didn't work they followed his daughters.

Media and journalist are whores.

I can't disagree with his mouth being a huge problem. He has said publicly things that are not politically correct. I hate all the PC garbage over the years. So much is lopsided. He has been vulgar, and whatever.
But to me it's "All about the money"- IE Jobs, growing an economy, attempted recovery in manufacturing (though I am skeptical). I like people who kick over the beehive, I admire him for running and taking a shot at the slimey messy gross political arena.

PC, sometimes it's just about being decent. You just thanked Gilsan for posting a these women are too ugly to be raped meme. He said that before about their looks, just like Trump.

They are worse than that. The media is fucking up the country. There is a lot more important things to attend to (Like jobs, and finding away from Amazon to end all small business) than all these crazy scandals- I could care less about Hollywood and that- but because most of the sheep in the general population worship celebrities- there you have it. Dumbed down populace.

True that joke was indecent.

Well a joke is a joke, if the words were restated like

"Would you have sex with any of these women?"- well - I don't think I would- or you would, nor would most men with a proper libido.

I guess seriously thinking about the issue of rape and that word- no I 100% can't agree as it was a good joke. Rape isn't a joke. I love and respect all women, and have been a husband, bf, mentor, sponsor, etc. to many in my life. I love them all.

I know this thread is about the US, but hope you don't shoot me. I posted a Catalonia thread here on NP, no interest it seems in the world around us on this forum, right? I mean it's a mess in europe. Venezuela too. I really feel for those people trying to just make it. Sad stuff.

Yea, we talk about world politics in this thread too. Anything politics.

Well, JB- whats your take on Catalonia? Station a cruise ship off the coast ready to pounce in the vote day.
I see the police beating up people trying to vote. Whereas in the states- the police *should* be beating people up to just get them to vote, lol. joking only, sarcastic.

I was there (All over Spain) in 2015/16 and felt no difference in anywhere in spain. Catalonians speak spanish and understand my gringo spanish. I love the country, and when I was first retired and younger planned to expatriate there. Now, can't. But will go back soon.

Cool place, cool people. The language is all their own. They have 25% economic production and Madrid does not want to allow them to separate. Look what happened to Yugoslavia... all separated by religions etc.
The big wild card with any of these separation movements is none of them seem to plan to have any military or defense structures in place before voting.- Like the Texas succession, California now wants to succeed, kinda funny and not well thought out imho.

Hypothethically speaking... So what happens if California say separates and Kim Jun idiot fires off a missle? Should the other 49 states pay for their defense? I say nope.

I posted on Catalonia last Friday on this thread, on page 544, Post #13589

Seems there maybe people that don't like posts on other parts of the world on this thread. Me, I don't give a crap about that since I believe that the US is part of planet Earth and not a different planet.

Besides, when you have the Liberal Media going apesh*t on Trump/Russia, Russia/Trump, Trump/North Korea, Trump/Iran, Trump/Mexico Wall, Trump/Islamic Terrorism, etc etc, how the hell can you have a solely US only thread? It's BS

Catalonia is a complicated situation, for Spain and the rest of Europe. All of the EU governments don't want an independent Catalonia, because it could bolster other regions to do the same, not only in Spain but all over Europe. Check this map out, that shows the many regions that have separatist movements and has left out Scotland and left out 2 regions of Italy (Lombardy and Veneto)
heres-how-the-map-of-europe-would-be-redrawn-if-all-the-separatist-movements-get-their-way.jpg

Personally I'm sympathetic towards the Catalonia independence movement, as long as a fairly big majority of the Catalans so wish. Watching the Spanish Police charging on the protesters, was hard to watch.

Thanks for the map. I have not seen that particular one.
I realize that EU is threatened, I say tough it isn't working very well with all the refugees flowing in and across borders until they put in some controls here and there but they have always shifted borders there. It's all about the money (VAT shared across borders) and control of course.

I prefer Andalucia region though over Barcelona if I were to choose to live. As I look some of those regions should be divided at least as states. The basque's have fought too, they would be next after catalonia.

I wonder what Brexit does to the English that settled in Andalucia? Wonder if they need special visas and have only 180 days/year in the EU like the rest of us.

Separatism can mostly be negotiated peacefully, but in my opinion the biggest threat to Europe is the illegal invasion by millions of Muslims and Africans being allowed and sponsored by our pathetic EU leaders.

The results are already evident, with all the terrorism, rapes, drug gangs, acid attacks, burning cars, thousands of no-go zones, where the cops, the fire brigades, the postmen etc. no longer feel safe to enter and on top of that we, the hard working taxpayers have to pay to support all these freeloaders, the vast majority of them having absolutely no skills, that could benefit Europe.

Add to that the fact that the majority of these people are not interested in integrating into our western ways, thanks to their religion that has remained in the 7th century and we have a massive fu*king problem to solve here. That's why I'm glad that Trump thinks the way he thinks about you know who...

People in big cities like London, Paris, Berlin etc. go into panic mode at something as harmless like an iPhone going on fire due to a faulty battery on a crowded train, or when a car accidentally jumps a curb and runs into someone.

Our leaders immediately tell us that life goes on just like before, that we are now stronger than ever and that it's got nothing to do with the religion of peace.

I don't think Brexit will affect the English living in Spain, since well over 90% of them are retirees, that have bought properties there, that receive pensions from the UK and are not defendant on Spain for free benefits, unlike the Muslim and African freeloading invaders.

I live in Madeira Island, Portugal and we have a fairly big population of UK pensioners, that have settled here for economic (much cheaper than UK) and for the magnificent weather we have here.

And you know what... we love the Brits, 'cause they didn't come here for freebies, but the same goes for the French and Germans and Dutch and Americans, etc etc.

FYI, all charges today happened while Barack Obama was President and Mueller was head of the FBI.

16 democrat prosecutors.
Time to get 16 Republican prosecutors and start going after crooked Hillary & Co.

No doubt. Most people integrate into their new home and neighbors. Assimilation is they. However some countries just are prejudiced as hell. The french dont allow the muslims to mix, so they have no hope and form ghettos and hate their world. Its sad. Or they are welcomed and participate. I mean like I recall in 2007 in germany I recall the turks come there and open Doner restaurants, no problems. The turk taxi (muslim) guys spoke better english and were friendlier than many germans. Imho. They figured it out. Other businesses too and participate in the economy.

When I was in spain I saw very few muslim looking folks. Lots of Doner restaurants there too, assume been there awhile. In Marbella downtown rented bikes to ride along mediterrean to Puerto banus. All along the stretch were UK english tourists. Of course, winter in England. And Africans trying to survive. Most were dressed well, but all were selling fake gucci bags, I must have seen on that strand 50 of them selling fake leather goods. All the same. But that was the only place really not in other areas Madrid or Barcelona, just a few. Well I arrive to shock of this Marina full of yachts. Big super expensive yachts too, best I have seen. Megabucks there, surrounding the marina were Gucci, and all that high end crap stores. Tons of tourists. Funny thing was that there were like 10 or so Africans with knock off gucci bags selling them in plain sight of the gucci store. I took photos, it was funny. Ferrari dealership there too. Like Rodeo drive crowd, I left and laughed. Not for me.

These acid attacks that is worse than getting shot. I would prefer just to get shot. I am really apalled to read about that stuff. Recall happening in Russia years back to a ballerina. Awful.

Bottom line is the state and police canโ€™t and wonโ€™t protect anyone. Stupid politicians have let it get out of control.

The feeling I have is the US should never have gone over there to Syria or Iraq. Should have left it all alone. All Hillary did was bring chaos like in Lybia. The petro dollar threat qadaffi proposed among his neighbors is one theory and a threat to the status quo. So they got rid of him like others... Seth, vince foster, etc... they have quite a record. Who knows. Its a fucked up mess.

Really. I was in Lisboa twice last year. I liked it, hiked up to Sintra, great trains like all of europe, you have a nice country, great food outside tourist traps like most places... except one thing that I have to sort of laugh about. I live near ghettos and been in some bad situations mostly when I lived in the states. I have travelled all my years I have never been pick pocketed until I got there, lol. Slick guy. Riding the street car up the hill. Bought that expensive iPhone 7 in Madrid for resale only, but shot great photos safe in the cloud.

I wanted to go to Porto and the south coast. Will do it next trip.

The savage madrid police from a highly developed country (8th largest world economy) beat the shit out of people trying to vote! It wouldnโ€™t happen many places, I was completely shocked. The US news is too focused on fake news, scandals and dump the president bickering, and international is not covered. I have been trying to keep up with Venezuela too and US news has virtually no coverage. Its western hemisphere too. Reuters covers more I like that and BBC news.
