Trump Paid $1.1 Million in Taxes During Presidency,

but $0 in 2020, Report Shows

ec80f1edfe08de58d641e5c9f1d4a837.jpg

The former president reported a burst of income after entering the Oval Office, but by the end of his term, his tax filings had reverted to large losses, according to data released by a House panel.
Despite capital gains that boosted his bottom line in 2018, the entirety of former President Donald J. Trump’s core businesses continued to report losses every year, totaling $60 million during his presidency.Credit...
In his first three years as president, Donald J. Trump paid $1.1 million in federal income taxes before paying no tax as his income dwindled and losses once again mounted in 2020, according to tax data released Tuesday by a House committee.
The data, which includes details of Mr. Trump’s federal tax returns from 2015 through his full term in the White House, shows that he began his presidency suffering the sort of large business losses that had defined much of his career and paid almost nothing in income tax. But his fortunes changed in 2018, as he reported $24.3 million in adjusted gross income and paid nearly $1 million in federal tax.
Mr. Trump’s tax returns show that he was in the black the following year as well, reporting $4.4 million in income and paying $133,445 in tax. But in 2020, as the country staggered under the coronavirus pandemic, his finances reversed course: Mr. Trump reported a loss of $4.8 million and zero income tax.
The fresh details of Mr. Trump’s taxes emerged from two reports released late Tuesday by the House Ways and Means Committee, which had waged a legal battle to obtain the records from the Internal Revenue Service that went all the way to the Supreme Court. The reports contain the committee’s summation of its findings but not the raw tax returns, which are expected to be released in coming days.

The new information adds to what is publicly known about Mr. Trump’s income tax history, something he had fought for years to keep hidden. Two years ago, The New York Times detailed tax-return data extending over more than two decades for Mr. Trump and the hundreds of companies that make up his business organization. Those records told a story fundamentally different from the one he had sold to the American public.
His reports to the I.R.S. portrayed a businessman who took in hundreds of millions of dollars a year, yet racked up chronic losses that he aggressively employed to avoid paying taxes. But while the personal income tax data analyzed by The Times ran only through his first year in the White House, 2017, the information released Tuesday encompasses his entire presidency.

Jan. 6 committee approves criminal referrals against Trump for his role in trying to overturn the 2020 election

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/co...ase-criminal-referrals-final-report-rcna61494

WASHINGTON — The House Jan. 6 committee voted Monday to recommend that the Justice Department pursue a batch of criminal charges against former President Donald Trump for his role in an effort to overturn the 2020 election and the fomenting of a deadly mob at the Capitol.

"We’ve never had a president of the United States stir up a violent attempt to block the transfer of power,” he said. “If we are to survive as a nation of laws and democracy, this can never happen again.”

The Jan. 6 committee is urging DOJ to consider a number of charges against Trump, including conspiracy to defraud the federal government; obstruction of an official proceeding, in this case Congress’ certification of electoral votes; conspiracy to make a false statement; and inciting or assisting those in an insurrection.

Jan. 6 committee report details the scope of Trump's pressure campaign to overturn the election

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/co...final-report-capping-18-month-probe-rcna62629

"This report will provide greater detail about the multistep effort devised and driven by Donald Trump to overturn the 2020 election and block the transfer of power," Jan. 6 Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., wrote in the forward of the report.

"Building on the information presented in our hearings earlier this year, we will present new findings about Trump’s pressure campaign on officials from the local level all the way up to his Vice President, orchestrated and designed solely to throw out the will of the voters and keep him in office past the end of his elected term,” he wrote.

It was the first time in history that a congressional committee had made criminal referrals for a U.S. president.

The Jan. 6 panel, led by Thompson and Vice Chair Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., believes there is enough evidence for the Justice Department to prosecute Trump on four specific charges, including obstruction of an official proceeding — Congress’ certification of electoral votes — and inciting or assisting others in an insurrection.

Chapter 1 is titled, "THE BIG LIE," a nod to Trump's widespread effort to delegitimize the 2020 election and falsely claim it was stolen, while Chapter 2, titled "I JUST WANT TO FIND 11,780 VOTES," focuses on Trump's attempt to pressure state and election officials in Georgia and other places to overturn the election results.

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Trump lost, and everyone in this world know it. Then Trump behaved like a crying 5 year old boy, one with very bad manners, unable to accept defeat like a man. The real shame was the thousands of people who believed his lies and behaved in the same shameful way, unable to accept the election defeat.

Hopefully, Trump will be charged and prosecuted for all what he did. The wannabe dictator can't be more clear. He wants to destroy the US democracy and become the next world dictator like his admired Putin. The wannabe dictator is the biggest threat to the US democracy since its inception.

Trump calls for the termination of the Constitution in Truth Social post

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/12/03/politics/trump-constitution-truth-social/index.html

Former President Donald Trump called for the termination of the Constitution to overturn the 2020 election and reinstate him to power Saturday in a continuation of his election denialism and pushing of fringe conspiracy theories.

“Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social.

Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, an outspoken Trump critic, denounced the former president’s Truth Social statement on Sunday.
“No honest person can now deny that Trump is an enemy of the Constitution,” she said.

Donald Trump believes we should terminate “all rules, regulations and articles, even those found in the Constitution” to overturn the 2020 election. That was his view on 1/6 and remains his view today. No honest person can now deny that Trump is an enemy of the Constitution.

I can imagine the howls and screams of the people cheering the release of Trump's tax returns if republicans did the same to Joe Biden.

We have actual evidence of influence peddling and money laundering by V.P. Joe Biden and his family.

Would you rather have a Picasso or flowers that look like a 5 year old's art project? Remember when they told you Biden wouldn't be talking to people buying his art?

Plays havoc with their writing ability as well. Streams of deranged emojis, multiple fonts, strings of incorrect capitalization. Just wait until they tire out and we can return to conversation.

I remember learning way back in university that the CIA caused the Bay of Pigs fiasco to embarrass Kennedy. Of course, this was back when students and liberals were skeptical of a vast and secret organization that could undermine democracy. Decades of media propaganda have been effective.

Kari Lake loses suit over her defeat in Arizona governor’s race

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/kari-lake-loses-suit-defeat-arizona-governors-race-rcna63173

PHOENIX — A judge has thrown out Republican Kari Lake’s challenge of her defeat in the Arizona governor’s race to Democrat Katie Hobbs, rejecting her claim that problems with ballot printers at some polling places on Election Day were the result of intentional misconduct.

“The Court cannot accept speculation or conjecture in place of clear and convincing evidence,” Thompson said.

Democrats release Trump’s tax returns, and CPAs have questions: ‘In order to generate these kinds of losses, you need to be super rich. It’s not a poor man’s game.’

it's sounds like domaining "you need to be super rich. It’s not a poor man’s game"

Democrats released six years of Donald Trump’s income-tax returns on Friday, providing further insight into the former president’s tax situation. Trump and his wife, Melania, paid $0 in income taxes for 2020, according to a report released late Tuesday by the congressional Joint Committee on Taxation.

The nonpartisan committee’s findings also raised several red flags related to the filings, namely Trump’s carryover losses, loans to his children that may or may not also be considered taxable gifts, and deduction-related tax write-offs.

That year, as the COVID pandemic hit, the Trumps reported a loss of $4.8 million. For 2018 and 2019, the then-president’s reported income increased and they paid approximately $1.1 million in federal taxes each year.
The Internal Revenue Service only started to audit Trump’s 2015 tax filings on April 3, 2019, more than two years into his presidency, which some commentators say is a sign of the strained resources at the IRS.
“Just like every other American, the President of the United States is obligated to pay taxes owed,” reads an internal IRS memo from earlier this month. “This is a core responsibility of our common citizenship: without tax revenue, our government would cease to exist.”
In a statement released Friday by the Trump campaign, the former president said his returns show “how proudly successful I have been.”

People who lose money and therefore have no income pay no taxes, Renwick noted. “There is another scenario where [Trump] lost money on paper but made money on the underlying economics. If that’s the case, then it’s the result of the incentives in the tax code and not necessarily a result of any impropriety. The chances are that he did it right,” he said.

“Trump is engaging in an activity that is very, very incentivized by our current tax code,” he said.

One disclosure includes Trump’s foreign bank accounts in Ireland, the U.K., China, and Saint Martin. “We already knew he owned large buildings with Chinese partners (555 California Street in San Francisco),” Renwick told MarketWatch

Hundreds of millions spent to fool democrats like @bmugford and turn them against their own government.

9/11 home land security bill allows the US government to lie to American citizens. Looks like we all got punked.
