.tv The Tools -- I need more but simple...

The tools do exactly what they are supposed to do, with what I see as basically one huge flaw-users of your site can't upload or post their own media.

So I am looking for something that does allow that but still gives basically about the same appearance....all without a lot of programming knowledge. I want to use it for a bunch of my TV's, so it can't cost a lot either, preferably under $50.

So, what is available? (I looked in the thread about scripts but nothing there really popped out as what I was looking for)

I am working with a few different CMS scripts, but in order to get video up and running, the "fiddling" time is killing me, so I would like something pretty much ready to go. (but does allow more customization then me.tv tools)

So, thoughts?

I will certainly be finishing up two of my dotTV sites with other scripts, Clip-Share, but I believe DM and ME.TV will release tools that will allow site user uploads soon. I put myself in their shoes and probably would not flip the switch on that particular function until any bugs in regular site owner video uploads have been taken care of.

And frankly, I know there are a lot more tools in the wings that will be released but again if I was in their shoes would make sure each function was working and debugged before releasing the next feature. I have already discovered some small incremental improvements in some of the existing features I have used since since day one.

I probably have the same wish list as everyone else but to reiterate I would like:

Message broadcast to all friends.
User video uploads.
Drag and drop organization for favorite videos, favorite channel and friends lists. Video Playlist already has this feature.
Skin/background modification - they have said this will be made available shortly.
A couple of predefined fields for my own display or affiliate banner advertising.
A search function for all dotTV sites on the Me.TV paltform, I am sure someone will hack this function if they don't provide it themselves.

Thats the short list.

While the ME.TV platform is simple to use there are other things I am learning while waiting for additional features to be releases. Programming for example. It is interesting to see on each site which videos pull views. I have already pulled a fews vids and replaced with others that have a more interesting 'screen still' showing that pulls better. I may not have noticed this if I was playing with all the other possible bells and whistles other scripts have.

Friends? Should you approve all friends that request? or be selective? I don't know but I don't want to be a friend whore like that guy, uh....what's his na.......OH, Yeah Carson Daly! LOL!

Anyway, I know we all want to make our investment and time in dotTV payoff ASAP and I believe patience in this case will payoff nicely.

Thanks Chris....those all look good, but I am looking for software to install on my server, not another me.tv....

Also, Brightcove looked good, but I assume since they didn't display a price for the Pro version that it is really expensive.

Not bashing here but in my honest opinion, you are asking a lot for such a small budget. Video in general is usually a costly proposition especially when you want high quality. I don't know how successful you will be in finding a perfect fit for the cost to go along with quality.

Ah, I should clarify......I am not interested in hosting the videos myself, that is for down the road. I am interested more in a model like Me.tv tools that allows me to link to a you tube.

I mainly use the CMS Joomla. It has a video pluggin that does what I want but the rest of it can be fussy for getting it to work exactly the way I like. I am working on a fansite (because I like the show) for Heroes: http://futureheroes.tv/ I like what I am able to set up and how it looks, but the set up time is very time consuming. I want to be able to deploy something that has most everything built in without having to install "plugins" or "components" and then having to configure them as well.
