Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

hI, I have listed a few cpa affiliate links to my www.insurancequotes.tel. If you live in the USA, could you please tell me if you can view each of these links properly as a website? (please note, these are pay per action- I only get paid if someone fills out a form, not for any clicks). I cannot check because Im in a country that doesnt support the offer. Thanks for your help.

Phase111,

I get the health insurance link, car insurance link, home insurance link, and they all look fine from here.

they all load, but slowly.... you might check differnt "tinyurl" type service for faster speed?

I would add life insurance as that is a biggie....

i would also look at the domain url of each link that you are creating and make sure that you dont want your folders to be named simply:

Life
Auto
Home
Health

my 2 cents

good luck with it

FYI,

All sites loaded quickly for me.

I'm a little hinky about tinyurls because one cannot see the name of the site one is linking to. It's about instilling trust for your lander.

I once linked on a tinyurl, which promptly tried to load a downloader on my computer. Fortunately, my Virus Protection stopped it.

I think Telnic left URLs visible for a reason.

Just another angle to consider.

;)

it loaded faster for me today also...

i wasnt suggesting tinyurl specifically, just suggesting that his forwarding service might be slow as it was for me last night in relation to other sites i was viewing...

--- I think Telnic left URLs visible for a reason. --
budurl.com seems to be a metrics and redirection service similar to tinyurl or any similar service if i am not mistaken, so the urls arent actually visible since it isnt where you "really end up".... damn, now thats 4cents worth, i have said too much and apologize....

Don't apologize, davidwest, and let's continue this conversation. It's how we all learn and evolve.

Perhaps a tinyurl will evolve that will show the link of original site when you mouse over the tinyurl link.

Besides, I think it's important that we do discuss different ways of looking at things, so your opinion is valid as anyone else's.

@phase111

Just for your info. The health insurance links takes me to places that has nothing to do with health insurance. But I´m sure you knew that :)

How can google compete with .tel

Like just now youtube was down. Google has downtime that .tel won't have.

Personally I don't want to fool with all the extra stuff google will throw at me.

I would rather own a .tel that I can enter my data and not be bothered with.

This isn't .mobi, which google supports, laugh.

.tel needs to get into those iphone commercials, pay um.

Google has no chance against the almighty .tel...

This is pretty cool -

One of the downsides, however, is that the affiliate links aren't optimized for mobile viewing like the .TEL is, so in order to get a conversion, the person filling out the form needs to be on a desktop computer.

Keep up the good work, folks - show off your .TEL projects with the group!

Hi, yes I can only assume you are not in the US? It should work for USA folks but then redirect to other sites, such as lotto, if you live outside the health insurers marketing zone. I get the lotto site too, because Im in New Zealand. Please let me know where you are located, cheers.

I am quickly approaching 1000 subdomains in the telnic system.
site is a telephone directory .

www.boracay.tel

the URL's are painfully long to look at. the .tel dns structure is changing the way we see things. I chose a different path for now (I am sure telnic will provide some redirecting/masking in the future).... but for now I am rediricting to full websites using these vanity extensions...

tel-more.info
tel-about.me

the first one is used for redirecting local business listings. eg.
plumbing.boracay.tel-more.info

the second for local residents. eg
john.boracay.tel-about.me

anyhow,if you follow through the "local residents" links to the sign-up form "register now" page, you will see at this page that we are branching out from the telnic heirarchy website (masking the url), ...continuing through to a mobile website which is then immitating the iphone's interface. (best viewed on an iphone ;)

a work in progress...

cheers

PM me if you are interested in using a vanity re-direct to simplify or mask, such as above. we have a few other suitable generic terms you might want to use.

Resource for .Tel Stats

General .Tel Stats

Here is a nice website to review your .TEL daily stats, and website valuation:

I hope you find it useful,

It'll be possible to add labels to .tel links, essentially making the subdomain name irrelevant unless you care about it.

So for example you'll be able to create a link:

hotels and accommodations in Boracay
h.boracay.tel

but that stays within the .tel interface? will h.boracay.tel be able to point to another website or mask another website?

cheers
