Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Hey Freakysteve, I submitted cranston.tel and didn't think it added it, but I didn't notice the arrow at the bottom. So, it's in there like 5 times. I'm not trying to spam I thought it wasn't taking my site.
Thanks

No worries.

Maintenance day today ;)

I think I'm off to a good start for my CITY.TEL: http://cranston.tel/.
I might add some restaurants (if not all of them; be a pain, though)
Need to look on an iphone to see how it looks.
Trying to find all that info was difficult. People will appreciate the centralized location of contact info cranston.tel offers.

well done grasshopper :)

On phone keyboard, pressing only once the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 gives 1adgjmptw0.

I hope .tel has some anti spam measures in place for .tel. It would be a spammers harvest paradise otherwise. Plenty of email addresses and phone numbers all for the taking.

Agreed. A treasure trove of easily harvested data on the 4% or 5% of .TELs that actually resolve and aren't parked.

Once we got the stat, then, we can use as a references for paid parking.

Once we are able to insert more information, then, we are able to insert paid information.

Once we have a search function, then, we can input more and more information to the site.

So.. once Telnic upgrade their system from beta 0.1 to 0.2. Then, we are able to monetize dot tel other than reselling.

Telnic, please move faster, before it is too late!!

You may want to consider adding area codes?

Who is "Daniel Fuehrer" and how exactly did he acquire almost all the top GEO .TEL

NewYork.tel
LosAngeles.tel
Chicago.tel
Phoenix.tel
Philadelphia.tel
SanDiego.tel
Texas.tel

Among hundreds of others... Some BS going on there.

Brad
Wow, not sure if anything funny going on with these regs.
I just think that he dropped some buckies and simply grabbed them as quickly as possible in landrush.
I did the same for the niches I wanted also.
I might have done even better had I not been so busy and ended up starting the day after landrush began.
Amazing list above though. Would love to see the full list that he grabbed!

He managed to get all those, plus many more highly valuable generics, during the sunrise period. You can check here: http://sunrise.nic.tel/sunrise.cgi

He most likely registered many trademarks just for the purpose of acquiring those names, and Telnic accepted his sunrise applications. I don't think Telnic should have allowed this :|

You can park a .tel?

.Tel is really an innovative idea with it's simplicity without need a website and web host, you do not need any knowledge of website and web programming like HTML/ASP/PHP etc.
In terms of simplicity, I think even my grandma can set it up.

But if .tel can be successful, there are still many question marks. Although it has structural data which is good for Search engine, but this is no way to make it "Rich In Contents". If a domain (website) can do well, another important factor is the "Aging", .Tel just came out, there is no way to compete with thousands of aged sites. So you need to expose your site on internet as much as possible, like put your .tel to the "Showcase" of this forum, another way is list your site on many directories. The http://www.dotteldirectory.net/ is a directory which only allow .TEL domains to be listed.
Hopefully, .tel domain can do well in the future.

I was using that term 'loosely' to describe active .TELs that contain "For Sale" messages and have little completed contact information.

In case anybody missed it, here is the sales portal being used by MySpace:

http://myspace.webnames.ca/

I thought the partnership was going to be with DomainMonster - maybe they're using different registrars in different markets?

Hey Andy, do you know where myspace is advertising this on their site? Or are they emailing this ad to all their members? I couldnt find anything about .tel on myspace when I looked yesterday.

.TV, just wanted to say your avatar annoys the hell out of me! The last thing I want to look at is Mr. Bean posing as the Mona Lisa, but unfortunately we live in a democracy, lol.

Speaking of monetising .tel, have any of you seen the orgasm.tel vids on youtube?? Some are hilarious, here's just one of them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCgwuCXxhoY&feature=related
Can anyone tell me what these were made for? Im guessing by the person that owns the domain, if you go there, thereappears to be a pay per call number on there... very clever.
