Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

for example?

Take India for example; from what I understand they don't have a unified phone number for the emergency services - hospitals in different provinces each provide different numbers for ambulance services.

Would be great if somebody that lives in India could comment on this.

I think aside from this people looking at disasters emergency planning might also seriously consider using .tel to quickly disseminate contact information.

Lots of applications, but these two are probably best left to the experts ;)

Ok, here are some good news for Geo .tel owners on market studies.
These last days I've been conduct a market study in my town. I've been doing "door to door" store and shops to explain what benefits they could get having a there listing in my .tel directory and if they were ready to pay to get their business listed.
From 50 business owner (computer parts, plumbers, hardware, wine shop....) I ask if they would like to see me again to sign a contract, 70 percent said YES, 20 NO, 10 undecided.
What also I've conclude in this results is that business owners that said NO have no knowldge about internet or computer. Undecided are big companies and have to ask their big Boss are other managers.. and Yes are young enterpreneurs, computer and internet saavy.
So dot tel is definitively a great start but hope they will solve the webproxy before GE because I couldn't go with my blackberry or iphone to DEMO with it as it displays the desktop version.
Here is how I've conduct my market study without any DEMO.
1. print benefits and some screen capture on a small report
2. Talk with confidence, emphisizes on benefits

In brief here is what was one of my conversation:
Introduce yourself....
Me: Do you know what is Dot tel?
Owner: Nope, never heard about it.
Me: That's right, it's the new revolution and I'm the only company that will provide a business directory the latest technology for mobile devices in this town.
Owner: Yeah, but I don't understand and already have my business listed in yellow pages.
....4 minutes after explaining yellow page cons... and .tel benefits.
owner: Come to see me again when your website will be up and will work together....

I'm preparing a website that will explain with a video of benefits, demos... to promote my .tel for business owners, next time I will meet them I will give a business card with this website url so they can take their time looking at.

Oh yeah, webproxy solve but when type in iphone, all I've got are tiny text links without displaying graphic buttons (like you see with largeco.tel) that was formatted for mobile devices. I suppose they are still tweaking.

Also title is : Telnic Proxy Tel

Well, I lived in Macedonia for a total of two years, and I have no idea what emergency numbers are.

Great job, Steveteva.

You're a great go-getter, and we (telsters) need to take a page out of your book.

In the past I've been in Yellow Page Business Directory business and I have some experience in Marketing and advertising revenues.

Globally, go to trades, expo and fairs locally get ready for your reports, iphone or blackberry, business card. That's where you can get customers fast and easy. Door to door is painful specially if your town is wide spacious. Also Google ads targetting your GEO and SEO will give results.

FYI we're going to make the iPhone page still text-only, but significantly larger resolution without having to zoom in.
Smallest possible size, click-to-communicate.

Where is the cheapest place to reg .TEL ?
Thanks

We're offering volume discounts WITHOUT the need for volumes.

Starting on March 24, TelCartel's introductory price is only $13.88.

Here's hoping that you all get the ones you want.

You asked. You received.

Just heard from Telsters that there is no longer a footer at the bottom of your .tel domain.

Cheers,

Why not with graphic buttons like seen on largeco.tel it's more nice and convinient for users?

steveteva, nice going thats quite positive.

As for the browser issues, tryed my site out on my Nokia N95 which uses the s60 OS and it works very well. Much quicker than tests earlier in the week.

Still having problems displaying Gmaps on my phones standard browser tho when I click on the loc. As the map window does not open.

Is this working on the Iphone?

Yes map works on iphone without any problem.

The graphic buttons are also gone from my Nokia E51. This was a very attractive feature for mobile users and it needs to be restored if dot tel is to make its niche.

Graphic buttons are not working on my Nokia E51 since today. Telnic should sort this out immediately. It is a nice interface that makes dot tel stand out on mobiles and very necessary if it is to mark out its niche.

Yes Acro. It bounces from 1st to 5th on google.

Of course with a few days of development the domain will not rank at #1 for a highly competetive word like pills. It is indexed though and I don't see any others besides the Telnic sites such as emma or largeco.

Acro I have a personal investment in .tel and am in no way related to telnic. Did you read the article link I posted earlier?

I just clicked your link from iPhone to www.pills.tel
And I got 3rd result

Looks like www.NorthAmerica.tel is indexed by google also....

I'm actually a little dissapointed there is no longer a footer on there, it was pretty small and would have only helped spread the word about .tel and helped people secure their own .tel, surely. Were most telsters against this type of promotion (apart from micro guy)? Would like to hear other's views on this.

It really depends on each overview, I prefer not to have .tel link.
But as someone state above the graphic buttons for mobile display is really something inportant, why not telnic leave it admin user the possibility to choose rather or not (option) to display telnic link, button or not...?

I've also set 2 websites for my customers.
1. for .tel business owners.
2. for hosting a one page for some business owners who don't have any website that I will link it to their listing in .tel (yes in 2009 there are still businesses that don't have an online presence because they told me it wasn't worth the spending on time and money for it) I will change that

I've got a marketing plan.
PM me for link
