.tv The Sedo notice at .tv listings

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
At every .tv listing at sedo potential buyer finds this :

Important Notice: Certain .tv domain names (known as "premium domains") cannot be transferred to another registrar, and must remain at the registrar they are currently at. In addition, the registration costs for these domains can vary widely, and can be higher than most normal .tv registration costs. Please contact your registrar in advance so that they can help determine whether the domain name in question is a premium domain.

Imagine what happens when someone outside .tv scene reads this.
Ok the premium transfer thing is not a case, buyer can make in less than a minute an account and receive the domain, in my opinion should not be mentioned at all.

As for the premium fee remark, i think this notice just decreases sales possibility dramatically.

With 5 lines of code, sedo could check from whois if domain is at ENOM (.tv names with premium fee are at ENOM only as we know) and also check if domain is registered after 18-Mar-2010. And at names not at Enom or registered after mentioned date could remove automatically this notice. These are 95% + of names for sure.

Would like to hear your opinions

I agree - perhaps even easier than implementing the code to automatically check, Sedo could just let us tick a box declaring non-premium renewal names as such, on our own recognizance. I hope they can sort something out because it surely does reduce end user sales.

I think full diclosure is a good idea

I think an instant check if the name is 'premium' is a better idea

Totally agree with you Manos.
But we could change nothing here. Sedo is anti .tv platform, sometimes I think Sedo currently is anti domaining place.

Let's bid on a paytv.tv again instead (love this name - it is on every Great Domain auction).
Amen!

I would rather see a toned down notice. Something reminding the buyer to check the renewal fees and the transfer policy of the name's registrar.

This notice seems a bit intimidating and as "manos" suggests it could scare the potential right out of a buyer...
