What it takes to be successful (profitable) with domain names, is the same formula that can be applied to other investments or commodities (i.e. Art, Antiques, Stocks, Crypto, Real Estate, etc.). There are many who enter the domain industry hoping to strike it rich, only to find out that it is not so easy. The blueprint to making money with domains is available free on these forums and YouTube, but is it enough?
I don't think so.
One can know all there is to know about domain names, and still fail as a Domainer. Why is that?
The reason: Success is more than knowledge.
Success is wisdom, patience, discipline, reflection, good intentions, consistent work towards attainable goals, balance, practical application and much more. Success is right now, and every decision moving forward. Success is being better than the day before.
Let's face it, most people do not have the required virtues to be successful at anything. We all wake up, toil/work, dream, eat, etc. but how many of us are actually thriving? Most struggle just to get through the day and long for what we don't have instead of being grateful for what we do have.
Gratitude is a requirement for success.
It's the desire for what you don't have (covetous) that clouds judgement and breeds instant gratification instead of enjoying the process. When you live in the moment and are happy with the process, then you will open your eyes to all the possibilities and opportunities around you.
If you've decided that you like domains and want to work in the industry, then you've already won.
All you have to do is now... is know what the domains are worth, and wait patiently for the right deals. Don't be like those thrifters who spend all their money at the thrift store and have a house full of junk (hoarders). Be the guy that has a masterpiece on his wall that he will never sell. Own the painting that everyone wants.
That is how you win.
