I'm not sure if you all know, (well some of you do) those of you whom have surpassed the stage of just being a domainer and developed, monetized and done real business online through whatever space, niche, or platform you are working on.

Do you know what it takes to develop a domain and make it a success? It takes years of failure, it takes learning front and backend web development (in my case), it takes trying 100s of new ideas and failing for over a decade before finally making it work.

What do you all do? You buy cheap, hoard and sell astronomically high. You are despised amongst just about every marketing circle, development community and well, the entire internet in general. I mean really, people hate domainers. I'm not sure some of you know this so let it be known - you are not loved on this internet.

And due to your greed, and the greed of registrars, you have contributed to the dilution of the domain game by causing registrars to come out with 100000000 new tld's so the average Joe can stand a chance at having a unique web property and not have to pay a company like hugedomains 20k for handjob123.com

That's all, I think most of you have lost your minds, I think that most of you are greedy and that a large majority of you could NEVER cut it with marketing, development or design hence why you rely on such basic tactics of monetization to survive.

Believe it or not many domainers like myself re-sell domains at reasonable prices. Not everybody sells names at extremely high prices. Numbers are the ball game.

Well, people hate Elon Musk, Bernard Arnault, Jeff Bezos, Gautam Adani, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Warren Buffet, Mukesh Ambani, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Steve Ballmer and the list goes on.

Domainers took the opportunity to grab the domain and then sell it later. In one point of view it is unfair but hey we aren't living in La La Land that things have to be fair.

I have had developed domain names into content sites and have flipped them for a decent profit. I can understand your point of view but calling out on domains to be hated just because they came in first in the line isn't good.
Will you hate those folks who stand in front of Apple stores to buy the latest iPhone? some buy it to just flip it to the next user.

I don't feel hated as a domainer but more respected perhaps that is the quality. Many think up an idea and same time think they are deserving for being late with that idea. I suggest second best maybe cheaper.

It's the prospective buyer's fault for not buying it for the $10K, when they had the chance. A rational seller is going to adjust their valuation based on new information.

Some simple maths please.

When people do affiliate marketing, they are promoting someone's developed website.

So if you develop a website that sells something for 100 dollars with a commission of 50% and you have 20 affiliates sending you 1 sale a day, you earn $1000 a day

The affiliates though, all earned $50 dollars that day

The money is in developing something that many affiliates will promote.

If you can't do that, affiliate marketing is good, but for every one developed website that allows affiliates, there are 1000 affiliates.

My grudge today is towards someone who has 1000s of LLLL.coms and is hoarding a local acronym because its "pronounceable" and "brandable" (meanwhile 99% of these domainer idiots could never build a successful brand in your lives, yet they are to judge what is brandable) and demanding 50k for it.

I've been here since the 90s, my work isn't less important than some crappy startup that may not exist in 6-12 months.
I've seen those come and go thousands of times, no long term plans, often just cash grab from investors and they leave their users dead in the water (I have been burned so many times) and move on to next project.
