It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

Total .pros registered increased by 1.4% in July 10 from 47,649 to 48,316. .pros at Encirca fell by 14 to 12,379 after 7 consecutive monthly increases. Enom are up to 615, they started selling .pros in March.

If you get a chance, can you explain the significance, if any, of this little test I ran.

I picked ten of my top keywords and listed them on estibot. Domain1.pro, Domain2.pro, etc.

Then I took the same ten keywords, changed the extension to .ME and ran them again.

The Pro's consistently were valuated 30% to 35% higher than the .ME's. Does that mean anything to you?

Hey cdboard.

Thanks for the Pro bulk search link. Didn't know they had one. Will definitely come in handy.

(the rest of this is whining at Encirca)

... but come on, 25 domains doth not a bulk search make. 500 is good. But if you want to run 10,000 names through a bulk search, which is what you get from WordStream, I don't care to run 25 at a time.

Any thoughts from anyone? Are there other Pro bulk searches around ??

Thanks
Charles

I noticed that Forex.pro is going to be auctioned between 2-9 December on Sedo / Great Domains. FX.pro would be nice, not sure there will be much interest in Forex.pro, it might be a bit niche. It works well in terms of professional aspiration and there are 4-5 developed .coms with ForexPro in the URL so it might be something you can add a zero to in the long run.

Does that mean anything to you?:ghost:

Not really, I'm not a big fan of Estibot. There are 320,000 .me's registered versus 48,000 .pros and .me has been promoted heavily by Godaddy whereas .pro isn't even sold by Godaddy.

There are certain .pros that would be worth more than the equivalent .me because of pro fit or professional context but I would expect an average keyword in .me to sell for more than the equivalent .pro because of greater awareness and premium keyword scarcity and a larger pool of interested buyers.

I added a blog on the 15 November Namejet auction. Let me know what you think of the book cover.

I'd say any .pro is worth more than the same .me

For the simple reason that .pro is a gtld, .me is a cctld.

But then that's just me.

That's what I was expecting to find but it didn't seem to be the case.

No matter.

Agree.

But also because Pro is a great extension and Me is a crappy extension!

Actually I'm writing because I can't see your signature. It's probably something I have turned off somewhere but I can't find anything. I'm too broke to buy but wanted you to know that you were sans sig.

mjs your on a roll! Not only is it great for you, its great for .pro.
Its pretty incredible that you can still find domains. I ended up using the bulk search tool at encirca to find campground.pro, campgrounds.pro and barns.pro that I felt were good additions.

Again, a couple more sales reported to dnjournal is a really good thing to keep the .pro ball rolling. great job.

It affects .pro as much as it affects .com methinks.

Why should it be any different?

Unless I'm missing something here...

I've read into it a bit. seems godaddy has large interest in .me extension. Hostway owns registry.pro so I think there is already some overalap between registry and registrar. I was hoping that somehow it would help broaden our market.

The good news, as I've been reading is that at least .pro is already an established brand and has a network of outlests (registrars) that are selling the domain names. This may prove to be a big advantage over newcoming extensions that enter the marketplace. At least .pro carries a presense in some well known registrars.

I only hope that the world turns a little and .pro digs its feet in deeper along with the .me's and .cos of the world to further develop its niche and brand. My general feeling is that although its slow the extension is becoming more successful.

I think ask.pro is leading the pack with 50 bidders on namejet! (I think we see 8,500 for it..my guess)

Have a great weekend all.

Final day to get in on the namejet 3 letter .pro auction. I didn't have great expectations for this, but Ask.pro now has 70 bidders and 700 highest bid. still sticking for my 8500 guess but would rather see higher.

Please excuse my ignorance but by "get in on" do you mean to sign up as a bidder? ... Geez, I'm not doing much lately to enhance this thread. :guilty:
