What was date of "1st day"?
Can't remember but I remember I checked for shop.ooo and some of the names you copied. They were already reserved. Some great were available thought like credit.ooo and stuff.ooo so I am not suprised that some of your list were available at that price. The registry was generous on availability.

When the hell is this damn 90 waiting period over.
@wot
You said that the 90 days started from the 4th of Feb?

Can you link that by chance?
I purchased 1 damn name from them the day it was released. Whois was updated with my info on the first day (October 23rd I think it was) but I am still unable to use the domain today.

I am wondering if my 90 day wait started on the 4th of Feb like you mentioned above.

Cheers

LOL...
Point noted... however it is well worth the gamble for me.
I would just like to be able to utilize the name some time soon. The bad part is that the never stated when the 90 day counter started. I assume it is what @wot stated above (Feb 4th) but I did not receive any notification from my registrar, so I am waiting.

Cheers

No notification, I asked.

It should be early May.

Was your name on the 90 day wait list?
I picked up a restricted name (some ICANN rule name) and I would have thought that the 90 days started from the day I registered it but @wot mentioned that the start date was some time in February.

And so I wait... longer.

Cheers

Nevermind I don't think they were, you're talking about the collision names list? I picked up the names on the first day of GA, credit.ooo and stuff.ooo and many others

This is an email that I received this morning from my registrar.

"...Thank you for your email. We've had a look into this, and while the .OOO registry has had all collision names on "serverHold" (not allowed to resolve/work) since they were registered, we've been advised they have not actually begun the official SLD-controlled interruption phase (the 90 days mandated by ICANN we originally mentioned) and will not begin this until the 2nd of April, 2015.

Unfortunately, this means computer.ooo will not begin to resolve until approximately 2015-07-02...."

So I finally got my answer to the question... it just took them about 2 weeks to dig into it.
So we are back to conflicting time reports (Feb 4 or Apr 2).

If they are trying to shake me and drop the name... I am going to hold onto it... if for no other reason then to just piss them off.

This should be fun.
Cheers

I always thought this is just another IDN zone. It makes certain sense in Russian (it's an equivalent of 'limited liability' abbreviation, e.g. for companies). Is it really a non-Cyrillic zone?

The only problem is... the company who owns the extension is from India and is marketing it towards the people of India.
From my understanding of what I read. They chose the "OOO" for ease of typing. They (the owning company Infibeam) seem to be a leading cell phone distributor in India and from what I gather, about 85% of all internet traffic in India is on handheld devices (i.e Phones and Tablets).
So from what I read, the triple O is to make it easier for type in considering the bulk of the traffic is generated from handhelds.
I guess if you want to get down to the basics of it, most people are right handed and the thumb naturally falls on the O on the digital keyboard. Tap, tap, tap and 3 O's appear.

Just a FYI not that it really matters.

Cheers

In other words, domain names with this extension are pretty much worthless, unless your target market is the India's mobile businesses and users. I have to agree.
