Hi,

After participating on the buyout of LLLL dot coms and the recent Quad Premium LLLL dot net buyout, I thought I would start this thread to keep an eye on the daily drops - who gets them, where to get them and why they are good. I saw people looking for the list of daily LLLL drops. I have it and will share it with you all in one place - easy for you to watch what is coming down the pipeline.

I have been tracking the daily drops for the past 60+ days (Since November 15th!), I thought I would share that with you guys. I tracked them to pick up over 300+ LLLL dot coms as they were dropping out. I only had 1 LLLL dot com before November 2nd, 2007; however, now I own more than 500 LLLL dot coms and many of them are caught in the early days after the buyout.

There is still a great opportunity out there for people to catch good LLLL dot com at (pool, snapnames, etc) or LLLL dot nets on your own.

Thank you. These lists are accurate.

I've been tracking them since November 15th, 2007. I collect couple of lists from Namejet, Snapnames and other expired domain sites and pull out the information I need.

It helped me get some LLLL.coms, and now that Quad Premium LLLL.net has ran out, I thought I would share both lists with the public. I am not spending too much time with LLLL dot net, so hopefully others can find it useful. If a nice VCVC.net comes up, I will go for it ;)

Good point. It would be good to know which shark got which name. I hope they can post it here. Maybe I should get into the backorder war too.

At what time do these drop?

Exact time please. I've implemented an API and would at least like to try and catch.... manage to get some LLL.in this way.

Even if they have been backordered, might get one that slipped through the cracks.

You are right, if you have a good API for this, you may be able to beat the big boys to few. The .net and .com drops at 2 PM eastern time. I think between 2 to 4 PM.

I have also updated today's drops. There are some good names scheduled to drop today. Get you backorders filled or fire up your APIs!

Anyone here getting any of these drops?

Shenron is right.

In terms of Domain API, if you become a reseller of large domain registrars, they provide you with API (Code or Library) for you to create your own site and such. Some people turn that into programs that can look out for domains when they expire and register it automatically. This is tough with people like Pool and Snapnames because they do the same!!!

However, it does help sometimes to catch something that fell through the cracks of the big players.

Are you sure about that?

For one, pretty much anybody can get access to a registrar's API. Moniker & Dynadot are the easiest. eNom you can via a reseller etc.

So there is no "creating of any kinds of sites" just to clear that up.

Another thing to clear up.. If a domain is pending delete, the domain is on a different "stream" and you or I can not access it via a public registrar. If you own a registrar, yes you can access the pending delete stream. If nobody goes for a domain that is pending delete, at some point it goes to Available and then you can use a public registrar (moniker, enom etc) to try and get it. Right now 100% of .com and .net domain names are picked up during the pending delete drop, so there are NONE that are falling threw the cracks...

The ones between the cracks, are ones that had already been tasted and spit back out. I have seen tasters taste a domain for 24 hours, 48 hours etc.

Right now, two of your biggest tasters are.... SnapNames and eNom! Trust me, I know... eNom is tasting about 50K domains a day! Snap, about 30-40K.

Once a domain is tasted and dropped, it becomes available INSTANTLY.

Until ICANN applies the fee they said they are... you will not be able to get anything great... When the fee is in place, it will hopefully turn back a couple years like when you use to be able to get Pending Delete domains.

That is absolutely correct, you can get an API from pretty much most registrars, though with most you'd need an account at least.

I think netklick was trying to say if you want to build a custom site off a registrars API, thats what they actually give it out for. ;)

Absolutely correct, i'm in the wrong 'stream' it seems. :) Domains I tracked today went straight from 'pending delete' to 'regged till 2009' almost instantly. And with people like GD using tdnam to sell pending deletes... and Yofie getting the tasting drops... ;) I think I'll spend my time developing. :)

Thanks for correcting me there Mwzd. That is what I meant. API can be used for many other things as any programmer chooses.

Just want to let everyone know that I have updated the LLLL dot com and LLLL dot net drops for tomorrow and day after.

Would appreciate any feedback to see if anyone find this useful.

What's the difference between your lists and the same lists that you get at Pool?

Hey all,
I've got DRT, and am wondering how to find the actual domain drops in a day, for .com and .net domains?

I ask this because, as I read before, all .com and .net drops are caught up straight away by domain tasting companies, hence DRT's "Domains dropping today" list (when looking at .com and .net domains) may be misleading because all are taken as soon as they drop.

Is there a way to find out which domains have dropped in a day, i.e. to find the actual ones that domain tasters delete/don't want anymore?

Thanks,
Tristan

I posted this at another forum, hence I thought I'd post it here and see if anyone can given answers? :)

I don't think Pool give you a consolidated full list of LLLL domains expiring and allow you to track it. My project is to track the progress of LLLL market. To see how many are dropping on a daily basis and to see where the trend is going.
