I dont think I have ever seen a .id.au domain but apparently it exists and any Australian can register it I think.
My First Domain was an .id.au (no longer Have it)
.id.au is Available to any Australian , but strict registration Criteria Applies
Intended as a Personal Domain name only

Can register
Surname = underhill.id.au
Firstname = David.id.au
first + surname = DavidUnderhill.id.au
Initials + surname DJunderhill.id.au
Nickname = GrumpyGuts.id.au
(Strict Checking is applied , so no use saying your nickname is Casino or Google)

How do they know your nickname isnt casino? It might be somebodies nickname. I guess they wont allow it anyway since casino.id.au is available it seems.

ibooks.com.au and domansregistration.com.au are at Nameseek.com.au (so many links in one sentance). Nameseek has a few good ones actually.

Lots of people selling but no one seems to be buying.

Nameseek are also have a parking page that is "coming soon"...to whoever that was that asked in an earlier post!

Over the last couple of weeks there have been a lot of .au names listed for sale on sedo, nameseek.com.au and domainshed.com.au, but they all seem way over priced in my opinion. I dont think we'll see any major sales reported for quite some time.

Someone mentioned earlier about the transfer fee, enetica is doing it for $49.

Thanks doggyowner

In addition to an ABN you can also use an ACN or State Business Name Number. A completely open system would be preferable but anyone can get an ABN.

Auda have changed there policy on .com.au domain names and now they can be sold on the aftermarket. Domain shed are basically the sedo of .com.au domains at this present time. Usually to register a .COM.AU domain name you would need a ABN (Australian Business Number) to obtain one. I hope this helps some what.

Update - now are 1,570 .au domains listed at Netfleet.com.au

Domain Shed do have some decent domains on there but I think some of the price expectations are unrealistic eg loansconsolidation.com.au for $200K.

I guess with it being early days buyers & sellers are still trying to find the right balance... hopefully a few sales will start to offer guidance for seller expectations

Nice site netfleet.

I agree, the names listed at domainshed do appear to be priced higher than the other local auction sites. Hopefully in a few months we will see domains listed at realsitc prices.

evirtual1 - you make a good point, but going back to netfleet's example of loanconsolidation.com.au, 200k is unrealistic, by all means aim high, even 20k would still be on the high side, but low enough for others not to consider it ridiculous.

The main issue I see is asking 6 figures for a name worth 1/10th or less you will turn all potential buyers off.

Thanks for the compliment, Wade :)

Just to add the example I gave was loansconsolidation.com.au - with an 's'. A very much inferior name to loanconsolidation.com.au IMO

I guess we're all waiting for a few more confirmed sales before we can judge where the market is at....

Whoops, I missed the S, with the S its barely worth $200 let alone $200,000!
