Domain Empire

The next DAN.com...

NameSilo

So I am surprised I haven't heard yet but I must say, I am surprised no one has tried to take DAN's place.

I feel like setting up the marketplace itself wouldn't be too bad. It would really be the risk involved with processing payments and transferring domains.

I am just surprised that 10 websites didn't pop up offering 4%/9% commissions as soon as GoDaddy announced the new pricing schemes for their platforms.

What's the difference between using Wise vs using regular ACH transfer? What does Wise do?
Wise is for international transfers. If you're US-based then it probably doesn't make much difference. But for us who aren't in the US, it means we can have a USD account and then when we convert to our local currency it is done at mid-market rates and fees are vastly reduced compared to using the local banks. It saves me a heap in fees and better exchange rates. Essentially Wise gives me the ability to do an ACH transfer even though I'm not in the US.

auctions nice but u need exposure and bids.. sadly running auctions on most places like sav... dyna or even high traffic like gd auctions yields zero bids and results for most people.. in short auctions for most are utterly useless.or 5usd or 10usd sales like on np
think we listed domain industry’s auction compilation, unless you want to count Godaddy or ebay; auctions can have landing pages leading to the live auction? I’ve seen lander to an ebay BIN, but ebay’s last (technically, lander)

ebay lander: NOT mine! Higher BIN! (Good for them!) Domain is VYOW — free publicity to seller; hope excluding link, allows vyow to be posted here, for research purposes; ebay lander for a long time. Lander!

Snapnames, NameJet, Sedo? How’re their exposure, fees.

people think those public.auctions will be tons easy.money... when in the end they.do no more than few bucks like on np... for every avg.domainer...
LLLL.com… Liquid domains are my favorites. I’m trying to min. losses with the highest floor; i have most this niche.

Current wholesale rates for LLLL.com is $100; it helps if liquid niche… All i’m saying; it’d minimize risk for auction.

It's no surprise. Many have tried and failed. DAN just brought a whole lot more to the table than simply low commissions. That was their success. It's not rocket science.

Vote for Squadhelp. When they could expand partnership with most of registrar or they provide similar services like SedoMLS or Afternic Fast Transfer , SH might be going to be real competitor to play the games
They have a wholesale section, so who knows?

Surprised no one has mentioned NameSilo's Namelot.

The landers look amazing and even the UI/UX is neat but it feels like a dead horse.

I just have a low value domain on it.
Check it out - BuyPencilArt.com (its using NameLot lander)

I agree with Bob that Namepros could definitely be a force in the aftermarket if we were all to list our domains here...and assuming there were no exclusivity requirements, why wouldn't we list here too?

Do they still payout via PayPal or Payoneer only (or wise)? When will they do direct bank transfers? Are their payouts automatic yet?

It is my understanding that Sav.com has for-sale landers with 4% commissions. I have my own landing pages, but if I didn’t I would probably utilize those.
What are you using for your own landers? Can you use google paid links in them?

I developed my own domain marketplace platform called Namefolio. You can easily add google ads, but i found it distracting on my landing pages and decided the ad revenue wasn’t worth it to me. I just removed them to focus more on selling the domains themselves.
Nice. Have you had many domainers sign up for your platform?

I do love having my own domain-sales website and I sell many more domains directly than I do on Afternic or Sedo, which saves me a lot in commissions. I definitely recommend it.
Do you keep privacy off on your domains as well?

If someone is looking to buy your domain, wouldn't checking Whois be a logical step for them? And, if they see that your lander email is the same as the Whois email contact for the domain, does that give added credibility fo the validity of your lander? And to you as a seller?

Congrats on developinig your own domain-sale website and the sales. Sounds like you have a winning strategy!

Thank you, we will do everything possible to serve the community. We will improve DaaZ every day to be one of the best marketplaces.
What are the payout options you offer on Daaz?

Operating costs are very higher to support BTC for number of reasons and also regulations are also getting tighter for marketplaces accepting BTC. With 5% success fee its not viable model as loosing 5% for each sale.

We are exploring all possible options to bring the support , we will announce the details in the right time.
Thanks for the reply, and I can see that Bitcoin's volatility could be a problem if you are accepting payments. I use domain name sales as one means of increasing my Bitcoin savings, and I would happily accept a 5% charge for the convenince Bitcoin offers when making international payments. I had a recent enquiry from Godaddy who purported to have a client interested in my G8S.com name. I wanted half a Bitcoin for it, but they refused to discuss any payment other than US dollars. I was surprised thatr an organisation the size of Godaddy would limit itself to the declinuing and unpopular dollar in these changing times. I would have accepted Sterling at a slightly higher price, but they insisted on US diollars for the sale.

Dynadots market place is pretty good. I havent used Dan since they were bought by afternic.
I only ran one auction on dynadot, and while it wasnt a great name I wanted it to do a little better.
I wish another player would come up like Dan as well, that said my sales from dynadot and afternic have been better than dan, but least it had traffic numbers (and did have a few sales there
