I know of no setting, if there were it would be a global setting which may hose other sites I visit which wouldn't fly. My Safari is fully upgraded, and a lot of people use it, not going to load and launch another browser just for NP.

On Android there's a checkbox that loads the current tab as if it were a desktop site; it's really convenient if you need to temporarily access something that's not visible in a mobile layout. I'm pretty sure I recall something of the sort being in iOS' Safari, but I may be thinking of a different browser. It's also possible that they removed it to encourage web developers to make full-featured mobile sites.

Either way, these aren't crucial features that you've noticed are missing. Personally, I'd rather not waste screen real estate with signatures on a mobile device, so I'm sure plenty of users feel the same.

If it becomes an issue we'll add a fixed-width theme/option at some point for iOS users.

We typically test phone support on Android 4.x, iOS 7, and Windows 8 RT.

If a fixed width version would bring the missing info back into view then so be it. Hate having neutered mobile site content.

How do Supporter and Business members feel about paying for signature content that isn't being displayed?

As for data being crucial, here's an example: I see a post and look at the members join date and post count, it tells me much about their familiarity and activity here and possibly also their experience in general. If the goal is to facilitate discussion, obscuring the background info of members from other members based on their device isn't helping.

This is not a place for you to start a debate. If you get aggressive, I might consider removing the new style that I just added for you. ;) Preferences -> Style -> Responsive, force desktop view on mobile

Also, let me know how well it works. It's not thoroughly tested since I just quickly hacked it in. Hopefully we can adjust the default style to provide access to all content/features in time, though we'll still keep non-essential items out of the way.

Thanks. Here's a few screen shots so you can see the results panned out and zoomed in, but for me the point of this is to gain access to the full site content which so far isn't appearing

It's not available in Safari - hence my suggestion that you upgrade your browser. There are other available browsers that support this function just fine and many of them have other additional features that make them worthwhile (improved privacy etc.) You should check them out - you could just launch one browser and use it for all the other sites as well. I don't get the attachment to Safari - and I personally would rather force Apple to opt-in.

I find it odd that you are requesting a site make a build or design decision to support something because you refuse to use another browser. The defect in this circumstance, imho, is that your browser doesn't give you the choice that you want. The site developer/platform provides support for either mobile and/or desktop with different views (if they were identitical then the point is moot but if they were then you wouldn't need two views) - and you are bitching because you can't choose :)

Go to the Apple forum and join the others and make a feature request. Apple should be listening to their customers.

It tells you their experience at Namepros. Nothing more and Nothing less. If you saw my profile you might confuse me for someone who knows anything about domaining (or anything)...

I just used IE 6.5 and it just tells me to upgrade my browser?!? What? I like IE 6.5 :)

One of my posts from yesterday disappeared too. I'm convinced it is a conspiracy.
Can you please provide me with the following information:

What forum?
What Thread?
Any Idea what time yesterday?

Thanks, I'll look into it as soon as I know more :)

I'd suggest those in charge of this change consult the server logs to assess the volume of mobile users who may be affected by the changes. My comments revolve entirely about accessing full site info and previous features via my primary browsing device. I was doing fine before and now by way of a design choice certain data has now been decided to be unimportant to me and I disagree. Your suggestion of putting the onus on the users of the default browser of a dominant mobile platform to resolve their own site issues isn't a long term solution. If I was using my old Nokia candy bar phone I'd tell myself to go piss up a rope.

Look, feedback was requested by way of this thread and I've provided it, with examples, reasons for my point of view and constructive suggestions. I accept not everyone in a community will agree on a solution but just because we disagree doesn't mean I'm bitching.

@scandiman We have much more advanced things than server logs. ;) We analyze demographics very carefully before we make changes.

Right now, the solution that I can provide is a customized theme. That doesn't look like the right theme in your screenshots, so I'll need to investigate further.

Just fixed another trade reviews bug. If you were having trouble leaving reviews, or a reviewee's scores/statistics weren't updating, the problem should be resolved. Let me know if any new reviews appear incomplete or a user's scores/statistics need to be refreshed.

Got a forum just for Young Domainers.

How about a forum just for Old Domainers (or Senior Citizen Domainers)?

LOL, yes I'm certain you've got much more than server logs at your disposal, it's my catch-all phrase for everything stats related.

Let me know if you want anything tested via iphone safari when you make adjustments, I'm glad to do so and forward screen shots as needed.

You can lead our Senior Citizen Theme design team. ;)

Personally, I find much of the text too small to read. I can't imagine it would be any easier if I had a few more years on me.

So there is no misunderstanding - there's a difference between "bitching :)" and "bitching". I meant it in the most harmless of ways. All I was doing was pointing out that there's a very quick solution to your problem - I use desktop view on Android and have yet to have any issues.

After further consideration I do believe the site owner should provide a "non-responsive"/full-site option though so I guess you swayed me.

After further testing, I'm fairly certain that you weren't seeing the right style. I've made some more adjustments. Can you test it again and ensure that you see "Responsive, desktop view" on the bottom left of the page above the copyright notice?

So here's some screen shots of my style options, the one selected, and current views pan and zoom

I heard in chat today half the people in that one thread -
DU, Johname, and Friends Shoot the Sh...

were thinking of leaving because only the OP can edit tags. I don't want to see that happen, is there anything that can be done about that?

Now you know no one is going to leave.
As long as you keep liking them, they will stay.
For they are all like whores in that thread.
Hahahahahha....

Hmm, looks like the style responds to screen size instead of browser size. My hacks won't work in that case. We're looking into it now.

Hey, no threats! If your hilarious tagging shenanigans weren't so awesome I might be inclined to give you a hard time. We went out of our way to add tagging functionality because we couldn't bear to see these threads without running commentaries at the bottom.

Edit: Apparently it's a moderator permission. If you're all suddenly forum moderators, I apologize--not that you'll be upset.
