We need this one too guys :)

This guide will also help LLLL.com holders to understand more the value of their 4 letters .com based on how expensive the similar 3 letters .com are.

From:

http://3character.com/priceguide.html

Pricing Guide for 3-Letter (Composed Of Letters Only) Domains:

Current Observed Minimum Wholesale Price (regardless of letter combo) as of February 1, 2008:

3-Letter .com - $6700 (+ $300 since January 1, 2008 report)

But I consider their guide a bit old since they are not taking in consideration the emergenging countries that appreciate other letters and as we have run a poll here several times lately, the majority of people consider the letters U
and W to be Premium letters.

Let`s have a look at some recent LLL.com sales as reported from NameBio.com :

Yah, i would think people who own these types of names have been around for a long time and got the years ago and held onto them

registrars keep snagging domains without "extenuating circumstances" (and they are already going after domains in the market place using these easy profits!).

this time is KQT.com being sold on Snapnames and i strongly suspect that is being sold by Web.com itself.

the domain is parked at ztomy.com which is usually used by the wharehouser branch of web.com named New Ventures Services Corp.

the domain was renewed since 2008 until 2014 and was on clienthold, probably because of the registrant company had gone out of business.

the domain was expired on 2014-05-01 but was still using the name servers set up by the client. on 2014-07-06 the domain was still expired and still using the name servers and still in clienthold. However, the WHOIS information was changed to PERFETC PRIVACY LLC when before it shown the owner's name. This is the modus operandi of Web.com when they take control of domains for themselves. The registrar's whois information still shown the domain as renewed until 2014-04-13 confirming that the domain was not renewed.

unfortunately i did not update my database for this domain between July and October when it was last updated and is now showing an expiration date of 2016-04-12 so I don't have all the certainty that it has been snagged.

I'm about to participate in a LLL.com auction.
There are currently 162 bidders.
There is no doubt that it will be sold for $xx,xxx, perhaps more.
It is now difficult more than ever to get LLL.com on the drop without auction(by not using namejet/snapnames/other domain drop catchers which have auction), almost impossible.
Their demand has grown beyond measure.
LLL.com domain owners know the value of their domain/s and there is simply no chance in convincing them to accept a low offer :(

that is not true. even in 2015 it is possible to catch them cheap. Andrew Rosener has just caught BBF.COM and I can bet that it got it for 5k or less.

I meant for less than $1k or up to $1k.
Meaning backorder fee or accepted offer of less than $1k or up to $1k.
Winning LLL.com for $5k is not considered cheap for me.
I mostly like to spend low sum and get 500%-1000%+ profit after reselling it to end user.

Could you please explain a bit about the BBF.com? You mean he struck a deal with the seller when you say he caught it?

the domain was expired and the notice went to subscribers of namejet expiration lists. he tipically moves around this time. he managed to buy the domain from the previous owner who has been dealing with some company bankruptcies of his and not very internet minded. not sure if he reach first the owner or manager of the domain...

Lll.com names do not sell for 1K and will never sell for 1K......5K is as cheap as you'll get for 3 letter .com domains

that's odd. it seems the same guy bought from their owners the domains NOU.com and ERN.com.
the contents of the websites are too similar to be coincidence.

but the odd and new fact is that both went to NameJet pre-release lists this night but ERN.com only changed its whois during this night.

both are under privacy so that no one can see the new owner. and were transferred to Enom like the current rules mandate for listing private seller domains at NameJet.

so the guy could submit a domain to NameJet before having it, or at least before reflecting the new ownership
in the whois.

that is fast.

more interesting stuff.

at the end of 2010 /beginning of 2011, Yonotan Belousov, from Original Web Ventures (original.com), seems to have bought more than 100 LLL.com from Marchex.

The move by itself is interesting because Marchex doesn't sell cheap but in this case they must have because some dozens were sold on 4.cn at around 5k during 2012, a few others were sold at NameJet in 2012 and 2013 at the same level. Unless we are talking in somekind of brokerage deal but even that is odd because of the average selling price.

The thing gets interesting because *all* domains were moved first to Sherene Blackett of Abstract Holdings International Ltd around 06/2011. The domains were pushed to her(?) account because they stayed on Moniker and the update date wasn't changed at the Registry level.

During 2013 they went somewhat silent but in the last months they have been dumping LLL.com on NameJet at no reserve, month after month.

So, we have a move of a lot of LLL.com domains from an entity that doesn't sells cheap, to a guy that doesn't seem to sell cheap either that by his turn moves all the domains to another obscure entity that then begins to sell them at wholesale prices.

I wonder if we are dealing all with the same entity ?...

Now i noticed that the major LLL www.com changed its whois from a guy named Alex Royf from Diagonal Axis Limited to Sherene Blackett, but now Sherene belongs to Z group Ltd. But the interesting thing is that the address and the phone are the same has the previous owner. Also, the previous owner had the domain at Rebel wich is a registrar from Canada. The DNS were also from Canada. Original Web ventures is also from Canada.

So, another nice detective story to explore in the world of who's who in the domain business.
