I remember when i shared the top and rear of a food shop for $20 a week and the shop gave us all the food on a friday they couldn't keep to sell the following week , roast beef rolls, pies, salads .... etc , and no neighbors meant no complaints about loud music !

I remember IBM cards, learning to hard wire (yes, hard wire, with real wires from on spot to another) keypunchers, collators, etc.

I remember the first time ET phoned home.

When pinball machines were easy to find.

When the radio offered several stations worth listening too.

I remember when Walter Payton could make a series of running plays really exciting.

When a 14 or 15 inch monitor look full sized, and 3.5 inch floppy disks replaced the older bigger ones.

Ha! I remember almost the same as a teenager! We would pick up our older friend as he closed up a restaurant. We would pick him up, and at the same time load up on beer, and roast beef, or ham! Bad boys we were!

I remember September 11, 2001. I was 13 almost 14? years old.

I was at home, and I flicked on the news randomly to watch TV.. And there it was. I alerted my family..

I remember when my parent's wern't divorced.

I remember using a net to get tadpoles/crawdads from ditches.

I vaguely remember going down the railroad track to pick blackberries. That's before they started spraying them with pesticide.

I remember going down to a canal to go fishing, but we never kept them as they were filthy as it was connected to a "pollution lake".

I remember having to pay a penny to use the public toilets back in the late sixties, early seventies in Rhodesia. On one of the toilet doors someone scribbled "Here I sit broken hearted, paid a penny, but only farted" :lol:

I remember when I had to fill in a piece of paper and bring it to the bank if I wanted to pay somebody. If I wanted to know if I had actually paid I needed to wait for the montly report sent to me through snailmail.

I also remember when Wrigley's Spearmint was still being sold in my country. To me this is still the only real chewing gum I can only pine for while chewing fakes like Sportlife.
