I remember when i shared the top and rear of a food shop for $20 a week and the shop gave us all the food on a friday they couldn't keep to sell the following week , roast beef rolls, pies, salads .... etc , and no neighbors meant no complaints about loud music !

I remember when a 14.4 modem was SOO fast, and I almost crapped myself when I got a 28.8 modem, and then when a 36.6 modem came out I flipped out.

When a 56K modem came out I ran into the streets naked in excitement.

I remember when here in the Uk we used to get the sun in the summer.

I remember using the Plato system in a corner of the IU library back in 1978 to play a multi player graphical game of empire with others around the country. THAT was cool. There was a rough 'chat' mode, too!

I remember seeing an ad for an external hard drive for my Apple II. Five megs for $5,000. I could hardly imagine having all that space.

with a cpu that ripped along at 1.02 MHz as I played Underwurlde and
listened to The Police album Zenyattà Mondatta. Ahh good times.

I remember when people would actually sit down to a home cooked meal with the family.

I remember when we actually had a decent economy and people could leave their doors unlocked without having to worry about crime.

Being able to watch The Sound of Music without wondering if kids hanging from trees in clothes made out of curtains, breached council Health and Safety regulations.

Riding a bicycle without a helmet

Mind you, they say nostalgia is a file to smooth the rough edges from the good ole days
