My "Name.tv" sold via Sedo auction, However, the bidder whom won the auction did noy paid for it.

Today, SEDO told me the they cancel the transaction due to the buyer did not make any payment.

By coincidence I just had a deal cancelled at Sedo with this exact same buyer as well.

It was a EUR 9,999 deal (not a .tv name), he looked seriously interested as we negotiated back and forth a few times before closing the deal.

Does anyone know what Sedo normally does with these kind of buyers, I assume his account will get closed.

Sedo sucks for these type of situations. There is literally no recourse unless you are a lawyer or want to spend money on one. Even then there is no guarantee. They should really start a feedback system sucha as the one here or at ebay. You should also be allowed to cancel any bids from such bidders.


Sorry to hear bout the deadbeat, but on the bright side maybe you will sell it for 10k in the future! I have sold a name for $90 - then no one paid, only to sell it 2 months later at sedo for $490 LOL

As far as I know, Sedo cancels the certification of the buyer. As per their Terms and Conditions buyer has to be certified before buyer can buy any names on Sedo.

Certification process involves confirming the identity by validating the credit card #.

Once the certification is cancelled, buyer won't be able to buy any more names on Sedo until the time buyer is re-certified again by Sedo.
