Hi everyone! The 3D market appears to be exploding! Record takes at the box office by movies such as Avatar and Alice in Wonderland and the announcement this week of the new 3D TV which is set to hit markets shortly have helped buoy interest in 3D multimedia platforms. Even the major American television network NBC has jumped in and will be broadcasting the NCAA Final Four basketball games in 3D!

A direct beneficiary from this renewed interest and greatly improved 3D technology is the domain business. Some of you had foresight many years ago and reg'd great names early on. Others (myself included) have only become aquainted with 3D domaining more recently, but see the huge potential this market has opened up for domainers.

Let this be the place for you to show off your 3D domain names. Ask for opinions, marketing strategies or even an appraisal or guesstimation of value. Also, feel free to post any relevant news releases/articles related to the 3D industry.

there are people out side these walls...
and they go to the Available Names Thread everyday - but probably never in here..

We aren't trying to rain on your 3d parade - contrary to poplular belief.

The thread was doing great till it slowed down a bit - then the links, sales ads,
click on my ads, etc started.

If you keep in mind the rules apply here just like the rest of the forum - it'll be a great day!

It depends what you're selling. I'm sure movies is better most of the time. If movie is a modifier then singular. I.e moviemagic is better but magicmovies is better as examples.

With that kind of advice it's not surprising so many newbies are burning money on worthless fad domains. The fact remains that 99% of the domains posted in this thread are low quality (< reg fee) and stand no chance.
If that is 'thinking outside the box', ignorance is bliss. In the end you are only kidding yourself.

The same thing basically happens with any new extension or trend.

In a year from now I bet 90% of these domains will be dropped.

Sooner or later reality sets in. The 3D trend does not elevate garbage domains to quality all of a sudden.

There is a difference between a quality domain that is likely to find a buyer and garbage. There are some good names in this thread, but the vast majority are just bad.

People caught up in the hype should put their credit card away and do more research first.

The same thing basically happens with any new extension or trend.

In a year from now I bet 90% of these domains will be dropped.

Sooner or later reality sets in. The 3D trend does not elevate garbage domains to quality all of a sudden.

That is no different than any "old extension" either. Basically, it can probably be summed up by saying.... 'On a year to year basis, 90% of the domains registered are dropped.'

Can 3D elevate garbage to quality all of a sudden? No. But, somebody registering 3dHighDefinitionTV(dot)com 5 years ago would have been told it's garbage.. However, now, although not necessarily a "super premium" name, it has a good shot at making some money. So, yes 3D does change the game a bit... However, words not related to 3D will still be, as you put it, garbage.
