Technical Bug with Chatroom

For the past month, I could not access namepros.com live chat via regular University Internet:

Could not connect to www.namepros.com:8888.

Possible reasons include:

- The chat server system at www.namepros.com is temporarily unavailable.

- Your computer is behind a firewall or proxy server. Please ensure that your firewall permits outgoing TCP connections to www.namepros.com on port 8888.

. I have been forced to use relakks (swedish proxy ip service) to connect to your chatroom. Anyway to fix it?

I'm not -RJ- but I don't think he can do anything about it - your university just doesn't allow chatrooms.

Yep, its your uni...they are denying access to ports.

You may be able to find a work around. For instance, with our college they block you accessing any ports when typed in the address bar, however if you make a html file with a simple meta redirect it works

For instance mysite.com/cpanel works, but mysite.com:2082 doesn't. They have no clue as its shielded by the redirection

The only thing I could do is change the port it runs on. I used 8888 this time because a couple users had not been able to access it on port 8000.

I can access 8000 RJ for the good of sam change back to 8000! Whats the source url to connect to chatroom?

that thing with the /cpanel works at my collage, but i never realised why!

my collages new net provider have banned np as a discussion forum, so this is no use for me anyway.
