A lot of scams going on recently. Many of them involving domains at GoDaddy. Many of them for less than $500. An idea occurred to me: TDNAM provides transaction assurance for transactions less than $500. If you arrange a sale on a forum, you could put the domain on tdnam for offer/counter offer, the buyer could make an offer for the agreed amount and identify themself in the comments section.
pros:
- seller and buyer are protected
cons:
- 5%/$5 min fee ( i suspect the $5 min is for each domain, which would be problematic for volume sales, in fact i don't think tdnam support bundled sales at all )
- not everyone has a tdnam account
- 30 day wait for funds
Because of the min fee ( again assuming bulk transactions are not possible ) This might only be appropriate for transactions around the $100-$200 mark, involving a single name per $100 involved?
Thoughts? Stupid Idea? Good Idea?
( of course what really needs to happen is the major registrars need to implement cheap, fast, automated escrow systems for push transactions )
