I listed some domains on TDNAM. They are registered with GoDaddy. One of them expired. TDNAM/GoDaddy then accepted a sale on that domain. Here is the result:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Since the domain **** was expired when listed, we have refunded the buyer of this domain and cancelled the listing. We have locked your account for listing an expired domain and require a $10.00 administrative fee to unban you from tdnam.com. In the future, listing expired domains will result in a permanent ban on your TDNAM account so please review the domains you have for sale to make sure no others have expired.

Regards,

My response:
It was not expired when listed. It was listed on Tue, Nov 20, 2007 8:03 pm
The expiration date is 29-dec-2007.

I am unable to act upon your request to review the domains I have for sale, because you have locked my account.

Please unlock my account, so I may check if TDNAM continues to list any other domains which have expired after they were listed.

I take back everything I ever said about GoDaddy having good support.

Tried ringing them up? Their phone support is often better than email.

Never trust godaddy. I had my account hacked around a year ago w/ a couple grand of domains in there. I filled out all the paperwork and did everything they asked but when it came down to giving the domains back in the end, it never happened. I didn't get one of my domains back after they said I would get all of them back. I called their HQ and got pretty high up in the company and told them off.. obviously it still didn't work. I also love how you can change your 4 digit code in your panel. That means if a hacker gets into your account and changes your 4 digit code, it blocks you out of godaddy completely. Bad security AND customer support.

I'm in the UK, so the call would probably end up costing more than the $10 they want. But it's not really the money anyway. It's:

- receiving an email with (imho) a threatening tone and content
- being accused of something which is utterly untrue ( i have the listing confirmation email to prove it )
- instantly locking my account before contacting me

It doesn't even matter if they resolve the issue. Sending me an email like that is unacceptable.
Ah well, only 80 or so more domains to transfer out of GD and then I'm done with them.

I've canceled all of my listings with TDNAM. IMO they are in real trouble of loosing their market place.

Over the last month or so they have had ton's of domains bought and paid for by fraudulent means. They send out the authorization to transfer email with out confirming that the payment is legit.

poor form....

It would also be good to remove expire domains from Sedo etc :)

I actually sold a domain on ebay the other day (a ccTLD) and the GD reps are telilng the buyer of the domain that GD no longer supports that particular ccTLD (which is an inaccurate statement since the domain is in my account and I was able to renew it).

Due to the GD rep's incompetence or disregard for the fact GD does indeed allows for the renewal of this ccTLD, the ebay buyer now somehow things I am a fraud.

This is one of the reasons why I am happy that I have access to an executive account rep (who are much better than the normal reps); however, that also means I need to get GD a substantial amount of business. Sort of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation...

PS Moniker's service quality has nose-dived lately. Good luck getting a response to any email inquiry.
