now that afternic is charging a $25 fee for listing membership, I wander how along it will be before tdnam slides into the number 2 slot? The bazaar seems to be getting a little quieter lately....

Is it just me, or prices seem to be dropping as the old timers try to liquidate their huge collections while the market seems to be on a more upbeat note?

Compounded with PPC coming to an end of its bull run and earning ratios dropping as suppliers start to crack down on fraud.

I use TDNAM quite often, but not for listing/selling - only for buying names in the expired domain auctions. I think it's going to be a while before they get enough recognition to become a serious player in aftermarket sales. They need to increase membership numbers and that takes time. They also need to recover from the bad taste left in many people's mouths regarding the nature of their auction/business model. To their credit, things have come a long way since the initial launch, and they continue to improve and tweak the system.

I dont use both. They try to charge moeny so I'm not interested at the moment

As at least a high volume trader, I think you have to try just about everything. If you actually sell a good number of domains, these fees are pretty reasonable. Usually a single sale will more than pay the fees.

One good purpose is it insures that people don't join one year leave the domains listed for years after expired. At least if they don't renew,the old listings will expire and be removed. Freshness helps any list of for sale domains. It's discouraging for a buyer to make an offer and find thaat the seller no longer owns the domain and can't follow through, or that a new owner can't list because someone else left up an old listing.
