Here's the news about .TV sales.

June 1, 2007. This conclude the sale of SURFACE.TV domain name to the new owner Marksmen. The transaction begin before the press release of Microsoft "Surface" new product. There is no direct information if Marksmen is working with Microsoft to claim all related "surface" domains.

As of writing this post, Surface.tv is the highest publicly sold .TV domains. You should see this sale from sedo as well.

This news will bring more attention to investors that .TV is here to stay.

I don't own a single .tv domain (don't hate me, there's alot I don't own) but I would suspect it does have some connection. It will be interesting to see the new WHOIS data once the sale is completed.
