status-resolved Suggestion : Indicate when threads are a spin off

Would be super helpful if a mod starts a new thread out of posts deleted from another thread there would be some indication of that. Like they could make the first post to notify everyone the thread was split off, AND provide a link to the original point of divergence to maintain continuity. Then they would have the ability to amend guidelines if needed later.

There are a few threads that make no sense if you are not aware they were deleted posts from another thread and the thread started isn't really the thread starter

It is part of our procedure to do this by quoting a post in the thread where it originated, which means that quote and original thread can easily be accessed from the quote link.

However, if a moderator forgets to do this or does the procedure improperly, it might not happen. Please report those instances and a moderator will fix the mistake.

We use the same technique for merging threads, as long as we don't forget or make a mistake.

Possibly alter the subject as well ?
Like in mail list discussions where you add [was: xxx] in subject line.

Yes sometimes I get confused when this happens. Any type of notes / notification helps.
