Does anyone own any "majorcompany"sucks.com type domains and is there any value or trademark issues with these type domains?

I think *company*sucks.com falls under free speech. I don't know if there has ever been any WIPO decisions against a sucks domain, but I know there were several decisions in favor of them.

As far as value, that would rely on development I would assume. With the failing level of customer service found at most companies, due in part to uneducated CSRs and outsourcing to foreign countries with english speaking people who don't quite speak english well enough for the average American to understand, there are a plethora of disgruntled customers who could use your site. The key is getting them there and offering them something that will keep them coming back.

I've got a " IHateCompanyNameHere.ext ". Picked it up because the name referenced a generic term for a product that I wasn't happy with at the time. Wasn't even thinking of it in terms of the company it it might also relate to/represent. A few days later it dawned on me (OK, so I'm a little slow sometimes...). Have never done anything with it, not that clever I guess.

Got it a few years ago after it expired. The previous owner had used it to vent his displeasure with this company. Turns out it was the only one left "in the wild", the multi-billion dollar company owns all the rest. Guess they weren't paying attention that day.

Maybe someday I'll get smart and put it to good use...

*Edit/Correction*
Just did a whois and it turns out that the big company alluded to above actually has only the com, biz, info, and possibly eu (not able to check eu at this moment) all other extensions (aside from mine) seem to still be available.

I know of one "CompanyNameSucks.Com" that was sued heavily by the company but they're still up and running they just can't discuss certain things without violating an injunction.

PaypalSucks.com is a very popular website. It has PR6 so you can imagine the popularity yourself.

I dont know of the specific case you are refering to, but I find that a lot of times the "companynamesucks.com" sites are run by ex-employees, so it may be a matter of making sure they don't disclose sensitive information that may be covered under an NDA that the ex-employee was contractually bound by.
