Good question, I also want to know the same thing, I have never tried marketing on craigslist yet.

it's usually good if you're within the vicinity of where you put your ads and good for local clients.

I have never had any luck posting there--a total waste of time IMHO.

I've posted on craigslist before and had some referrals to my site but it was quick and short lived. That was over a year back. Haven't tried it recently though, but for local businesses I think it would work really well.

From my experience it's been a total waste of time, I do know of a handful of people who have luck with it but they use more "aggressive' tactics such as posting in multiple cities/categories.

Ads on craigslist run for 45 days only provided it doesn't get removed by the craigslist administrator.

First it is a classified website second through craigslist you can get free one way backlinks for what I know local versions of craigslist don't use nofollow attribute unlike craigslist US.

Just be wary of the rules, if you don't want your IP get banned.
