I was on CraigsList this morning and saw someone selling domain names. Has anyone done this with any success??

I tried to sell good domains there but no one is interested.

On the other hand I get more respond when I sell lots of household junks.

I'd be very surprised if Craig's list converted at all for domains. It's not a very targeted audience.

Craigs list is patroled by a fleet of self-appointed category cops who red flag anything that does not fit their definition of relevant. Such as a motorcycle domain in the motorcycle section. Your entire ad is dumped, and you have to start from scratch.

Seems that they do not want anybody doing business there, just house-hold junk, pets and h00kers. I am quite fed up with them.

BTW, Ebay owns 25% of Craig's list.

I've listed on CL maybe 3 times in the past 9 months and have sold 5 domains at $50 each (hand regs 3-4 month old) 3 different sales so i guess its alright with me. Maybe it's the presentation?

You have to think of the audience. There probably aren't many domainers looking through Craigslist for domains. Probably not too many end users either.

First time I've heard of it, will be looking into it though. Sounds interesting.

Haven't sold anything there. Isn't CraigsList known that it's full of scams anyway? Anyway, that's what I've heard, not sure if it's true.

Can't expect too much if it's "free" and the owners want others to judge the content.

Not sure if it was a friendly purchase. Ebay has their own free classifieds site.
Maybe they're giving us a clue to ebay's future pricing structure.
