I have entered a few .mobi names for the Traffic auction that will take place in Las Vegas on March 7th. The best one of these is probably Stocks.mobi In the previous auction Stockquotes.mobi went for $ 27,000 As stocks.mobi is shorter and just as to-the-point, I expect this one to go significantly higher.

Please let me know your thoughts about this one. Also if someone of you wants to bid on this domain but will not be attending the live auction then please let me know and we will make sure you can bid.

I think it should go much higher.

$60,000 at least:)

Good luck.

Wow, good luck, this should be fun to watch and great for .mobi!

By the way, how did you get Stocks.mobi, the creation date is 30-Nov-2006? :-/ That had to have been one of the most highly sought names!

He was so

- lucky
- and smart
- and had the right connections

He knew which false TM mobi registrations became available on the 30th of November. On that day he collected mid - high $ xxx.xxx with about 10 superrrrrr mobi domains for reg fee!!! When I heard this I was sooooo jealous (and since then I repected Hennie even more...)!!

Good luck with it. Don't set your reserved too high (+/- $ 20,000). More chanche that it will go to the live auction... And if it goes to the Live auction... it will :kickass: and it will get :sold:

Wow, I would have thought those had been backordered by so many people and would not have been so easy to get after a re-release (he didn't even have to bid for them at auction!). I noticed from his portfolio that it seems this is how he also got Girls.mobi, Pay.mobi, Children.mobi, among others, how lucky is he?? Having the right connections make all the difference...I hate being the little guy. :'(

Hopefully stocks.mobi will meet the right enduser with a perfect price.

I think you should hold selling it unless your desperate for money, if you developed then sold as a going concern you would probably double the price you'd get in the traffic auction at this present time! IMHO But it's a show stopper if ever i saw one good luck with it!

Talk about being at the right place (his computer) at the right time!

I don't understand this, only people who have connections can get those premium names? I know it could happen in China, but I really don't believe it also happens in the west.

I think it means the information.

How many names like stocks.mobi are re-released? Anyone knows?

Stocks.mobi, Pay.mobi, Girls.mobi, PrePay.mobi, Children.mobi (and I'm sure there's more, I just haven't checked them all)...but those are the few that were re-released and hanogl got them all apparently for reg fee and is now going to make a killing since those are amongst the most valuable non-premium, non-reserved names.

Learn how it's done, kids.

Even stranger, how many people are privy to that information?

very interesting thread- very interesting- you have to know that hanogl was not the only person on earth who knew this, nor trying for the domains- weird how one person ended up with all, those premium names after an open drop. i am sure, i can bet my kids, there were other pros in the field who knew the same info- weird ;-(

The irony is , if indeed it was 'stocks' that were being bought, this would be called insider dealing....wouldn't it?

why would those names be rereleased?

Due to invalidation of the trademark application by Price WaterhouseCooper. New to domaining, I didn't realize how vigilant you have to be after domains are already taken.
For some reason...this makes me sick. Must be the ugly side of the business.

Though had I picked up these names...I wouldn't feel so sick!

I doubt others knew. No one would be stupid enough to let these go @ reg fee. I'm surprised the backordering services didn't catch them and put them to auction, would've made a killing.

Actually, I hadn't thought of it that way. Now that you mention it, yeah, I suppose it would be something like insider trading...only legal apparently.

I gotta learn these tricks, I'm missing out damnit!
