I'm just curious if the domain industry is better than back in 2011 or worse? I got into domaining back in 2011 then quit because I didn't have the time or money to throw away on bad registers... But how is it doing now? Better or worse than in 2011??

Low prices, cheap buyers; terrible. If you didn't like 2011, wait for 2016. Best of luck.

Its a truly incredible phenomenon, go to any forum about any industry and ask this question, I dont care if its a forum about the real estate market, stock market, auto dealing, general business and most will claim that their industry is in decline and it use to be better and easier etc etc.

Yet without fail, every week there are a new batch of domains being sold for X,XXX + and the numbers not just are consistent but rather they are increasing.

The buyers are here for everything but you must charge your technique on how to get them to buy.

My guess is that within 2 years if you do not have a truly good plan on reaching out to end users daily, you will have no chance of being consistently successful at domaining unless you have such a mega portfolio that people come to you.

What did you expect. There is still a market for good domains though. In my view, the industry is doing fine.

I think that any history is just a reference.

The domain business most depend on certain domain what it is.
