Hi Guys and Gals,

As some of you here will know, sitting on ones derrier 24/7 tends to ensure you slip on a couple of extra unwanted Lbs.

In my case its got out of hand. Aside from my scales shouting "one at a time" when I got on them the other night, I couldnt help casting a glancery eye that the number on the Kg dial was almost 3 digits... 97Kgs to be precise..

So I need your help. Actually, we need your help. Joining me in a sponsored slim (for a charity yet to be decided) our nobel admin -RJ- is joining me for the ride.

Starting tomorrow (no really, for real) we intend, for the next 11weeks, to lose weight. 28Lbs each to be precise. Ending 20th December.

In true Vince McManus style we have privately been casting aspertions on each others ability to lose the weight and this is whats brought on this challenge - all in the name of fun. In all seriousness I do actually need a target in order for me to be able to do this.. And doing this for charity will be just the impetus i need.

So Im asking for your sponsorship. Will any of you be so kind as to sponsor us individually or as a collective duo?? NP$ for LBS.. i.e. 10NP$ per Lb or 200NP$ if the weight loss is achieved eg.

In true embarrassing fashion we will both post here at weekly intervals our progress and current weight / weight loss. And, as much as I trust -RJ-, our good ladies will act as adjudicators...

So please please post your sponsorship pledges here. You can even use this thread to make fun of us, if you so wish (within reason :) )

Please also feel free to recommend any good causes we can donate the sponsorship to. If I make my target weight i'll donate $100 to the fund.

All the best,

Ian aka Badger

PS I will win :)

Halfway w/ 7 weeks to go :)
You may be 1/2 way to your goal, but if you don't make it a long-term ordeal, you'll put it back on right away.

I have no weight problem, but I need to put back some of the muscle that's given way to fat. It feels really bad when you were really muscular a couple of years ago but now you've lost all of that.

So I'm gonna go on a program too...lose fat (not weight) and build some muscle. I know its almost impossible to do both at the same time, but I've done it before. Hopefully I can do it again.

Here's my goal:
1. Increase my bench press to at least 250 pounds in one month
2. Slim down from a 32" waist to a 30" one.
3. Put on more muscle. At least 16" on the arms.

Hopefully I can do it...

- NO red meat (I'll miss that the most :()
- Sticking to just tuna/turkey
- About 1.5 hrs in the gym, 6 days a week. 2 days of heavy cardio, 4 days of heavy workouts. A long run/bike ride on Sundays (which makes it 3 days of cardio)
- Some supplements. I want to stick to protein shakes, but might take some creatine too.
- 5-6 meals a day (this is the hardest part, I guess)

And most importantly, Sticking to the plan!

Start lifting heavy weights and your muscles will grow while you're shedding the fat. A lot of the fat is stored just waiting to "be used". The body will take the fat and use it to feed the muscles while they are growing. As your muscles are growing your metabolism will increase and you'll see it'll be much easier to loose weight as you go. Cardio will help you shedd the rest of the fat once you've reached your desired weight / size :)

Also make sure you eat plenty of "healthy" protein rich food. Chicken filets, beef, tuna, veggies, cottage cheese etc.

You should visit Mens Health Forum if your serious about staying in shape once you get there. And we all know its not a 5 or 6 week thing, it's a lifetime thing.

Good luck to everyone trying to get in shape :)

I'll donate $500 NP to each of you if you reach your goal weight. But I want a picture with feet on a scale for proof :hehe:

Though my friends tell me differently, as good friends should... LOL

I could stand to loose a few pounds and I have recently been taking them off (thanks to quiting my habbit which gives me major munchies) .. :) Too bad I missed the cut-off date.. Ohh well, maybe I'll get in on the next one and post some pics :)
