Hey guys,

Has anyone here ever lost a considerably large amount of weight? Right now I am 210 pounds and based on my height I should be about 165-175 pounds. I was about 250 pounds a year ago but restricted my diet quite a bit and lost quite a bit, but I still have to lose more.

I've read a bunch of articles on the internet about 'excess skin'. Some say "surgery is your only option", others claim "build up your muscle" and the list goes on and on.

My question is: has anyone here ever personally been overweight (or maybe your spouse) and lost quite a bit, andn is 'excess skin' really true? And if so, how did you get rid of it or reduce it?

Sorry if this isn't the most appealing thing to talk about.
I was just curious.

listen up man, i was 215 about a year ago, I worked out and did cartio for 3 months and lost 30 pounds. I had NO 'excess skin' . I do on the other hand have a few stretch marks, but nothing serious. The only thing i acn say is work out hard, and do lots of cartio. I do have to admit though i was working out 4-5 times a week for at least an hour each time. And I was doing about 30 minutes to an hour of cartio about 4-5 times a week. I made no sacrifices on how much i ate, but i stopped eating any kind of junk accept chips every once in a while. :) oh and pop.lol.
If you have problems with 'excess skin' then maybe you could try creams or like you heard : building muscle will reduce access skin. Also, this is just an opinion, and im not really sure if its tru, but i tan at the tanning beds, and it does seem tighten my skin.
Im sure everything I have said is somthign you already know, but i hope this helps you in some way. And im no professional, but if your interested i could prolly do up a schedule for you to use if your interested in working out. :) just pm me if so.

Skin is elastic.
As you lose weight your skin will shrink accordingly. Unless your over 55 and it starts to sag a bit anyway.

Stretch marks are a definite possibility.

Find your calorie limit (like 2,5k calories / day) and eat 50% of that. If you eat more than your norm you gain weight, if you eat less you lose weight. Simple as that - and if you eat 4k calories in krispy creme or starbux stuff these carbs are the easiest ones to cut out.

lo0l i am overweight personally and i have been really trying to lose weight but its the hardest thing EVER!!!!! my doctor told me to get a step counter and walk 10,000 steps @ night after dinner AND DRINK A LOT OF WATER every night and you will lower blood pressure and start to loose pounds. also you half to look at what you eat and why you are eating it weather its out of bordom or somthing bad happened it just all depends.

Tru, you should only eat when u are actually hungry. 2-3 meals a day or 4-5 small meals. Either way, from my experience, it doesnt matter what you eat as long as you maintain a constant. no more thatn usual. If you eat less you'll lose more cal. But nothing beats good ol excercise. Dont give me no, i cant, Its too hard cuz im too big. lol Iv been overweight, only 30-40 pounds but hey. i know its haRD, but you cant expect it to be easy.
BTW this was not directed at anyone in particular. just in general.

agreed with skrilla, you cant have a negitive prespective on doing excersize unless you wont do it and you are gonna WANT to do it to do it.

Well... im "underwieght" can someone give me some tips to gain weight?

Now to loose wieght,

Try your best to get on Dr. Phil... Now the thing about him... he helps people loose weight... but look at him O.o (He had a few episodes on this...)

Im 6'6 and weigh 130 pounds and thats not healthy :-/ i eat contantly... my girlfriend is jealous O.o

I lost 20 pounds in 2 month by avoiding McDonalds/Burger King UNLESS it was a fruit partfe and Wendy's Chilli, and I [still] only drink diet cokes or water.

Follow these steps:
water, excerise, water, organic food, water, excerise

I just got active and started eating better and lossed fat, I don't care about weight since if you work out alot you gain muscle, which gains weight, so if your lifting weights and what not and loosing fat, don't worry much about weight.

so easy for me to put on weight

im over weight as it is (by a fair bit actually)

im trying to shift it, i do a 90 minute walk each day ive cut down on the ammount of junk i eat (well its practically none now) but theres not time for me to go to the gym or anything.

Mine is around 23-24 (last time I calculated it was 23.4) which is still normal but a couple of pounds'll do it. I wanna lower it to around 20 :) Losing all that belly blobber will help for sure, which IMO is the easiest weight to lose B-)

But if I ever become overweight, will RJ get a lawsuit about making NamePros so addicitng, for sure! :lol:

oh god people - please don't start with the BMI index. You can't apply the BMI index to anyone else but the average person. According to the BMI index I am way overweight, yet I have a bodyfat % of 11.29. I'm 231lbs at 6'4 so obviously in my weight / height ration the BMI index would say I'm fat. But thank god I'm not he he..

To cut some weight, do a lot of cardio (running, riding a bike) and maybe even some weightlifting. In combination with being active try to maintain a low carb diet and keep the junkfood, pop and candy to a minimum. Drink a lot of water, eat a lot of veggies, fruit, cottage cheese. For proteins eat loads of fish, lean meat and chicken filets - you'll see changes approach fast :)

First thing to loose a weight is to get ready for it!

What you eat? When you eat? What you feel before you eat? What you feel after you eat? Do you eat much or don't you make any exercises?

Making a diet is a real hard thing if you are Overweight or an obes. If you don't like vegetables that's harder. Maybe you have to completely change your menu list or stop eating any of them?

No this is the last thing to do!

You should eat mostly everything you like when you are having a diet.
