Hey guys!

I need your help on this one:

My computer is going very slow, and I feel that it's not using all of its 256 MB of RAM properly :| .

Do you guys know of any RELIABLE programs that you have used without problems, to free up some RAM and make my dear machine a bit faster :red: ?

I've done spyware scans, etc. and cleaned all the infected stuff, but it kind of became slower after that :o!

:notme:

I would appreciate any help on this!

Thanks:tu:!

A lot of games on one computer slow it down (more than 5 on 256 MB RAM). Try to get rid of all the software you don't really use. Also, take a look at task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del >> Task Manager) to see which programs eat up most of your processor speed.

Good luck ;)

That's another problem; I am the administrator on the computer, and I used to be able to close any processes on other user accounts including "Local Service" and "System". Now I can only close processes from my own account, and no others.:lala:

Thanks for the tip, though:tu:!

I have less than 5 games, more like 3(?).

SiSoftSandra.

Do a google for the download link (since I like you, but am not ready to pick out curtains... im not doin all the work for ya!).

Nifty, free tool that scans your system and tells you whats config'd properly, whats out of date and how to fix everything.

Use it on mine and my pc runs like a top :)

Also, at 256MB it might be time to spring for some more ram (What, $40-60 for another 256MB?) or a new computer all-together...

I recently upgraded from 512 MB to 1 GB, I don't really feel any difference.... :(

I already have a new computer, but it also has 256MB:|. I might invest in maybe a 512, but need the $$!

Thanks!

What OS True ? - Assuming Windows ?

- Keep only things running on your taskbar that you Really need
- I delete cookies / Cache / and Temp Internet files very Frequently
- Run your Virus/Adware Programs (Trojans etc ... Slow things severely)

- as others state above ... Large files/programs/games etc ... Hurt as well -

Hope some of it helps :)
