About half of the members we hear from think we moderate too much and the other half think we don't moderate enough. That indicates we're doing it the right amount. ;)

It might indicate you're doing it wrong.

Right now, you literally allow forum spamming. 100% spamming. So you delete comments pointing that out, leave the spammer alone.

With Bikini Tara, deleted comments from people pointing out issues with them, left them alone. They go on to rip somebody off.

Somebody posts something in a thread trying to be helpful, you delete it.

So, I see you deleting/going against people trying to help you keep this forum clean. You literally had a thread in the past about asking for help, then zap the people that do.

If you want to break this into a new thread about forum spamming ok. Because you might be ok with it, then I just need to know, it'll save me some time.

Edited to add just 1 example of forum spam that's allowed here:

I can see where the terms "moderating" and "spam cleaning" could be confusingly similar for some people.

The one theme that I see is that some members have trouble "trusting" the administration of this forum. This is where much of the challenge arises.

Some members allow their feelings to get hurt. Some members simply decide they have contributed enough that they are above the rules and the established processes. Neither are healthy.

If members, especially older members, were to truly trust the admins and moderators, and know that there are no motives other than making the forum great for millions of people and not just a few, I think it would be wise.

Certainly I mean no disrespect to anyone, but I have never had a question to admin or mods that went unanswered.

Quiet lately - mods fixed the issue :cigar:

A moderator removed his post, issued an infraction, and his account has automatically closed for exceeding the maximum alloted negative infraction points.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

He's back spamming again, shocking that a spammer would spam.

There are other threads where he posted the exact same domains but they were legit threads you could post those names, these 2 started just to spam.

So a total of...............5 different threads with the exact same names. 5. And I did use the Report button for them all just to show you there are 5.

If you wondered why I didn't renew my Business Account (probably not) one reason was the blocking of External Auctions from New Posts, old news, but the other reason was allowing spammers here.

Unfortunately, some members are overzealous in their promotion and struggle to understand the rules more than others. An exceptionally small number of members intentionally abuse their second chances, and when it does happen, it is an exception (very rare) and not something that can be predicted ahead of time.

the other reason was allowing spammers here.
We do not allow spammers here (and we never have), but we do disagree with your definition of spam and any absolute intolerance of members that need more help to understand the rules (what is and isn't spam, where it is and isn't allowed to be posted, etc.). However, there's nothing wrong with disagreeing. We're all entitled to our opinions, but it's clear by now that we are not going to agree on either of those, so let's move on.

the blocking of External Auctions from New Posts
Excellent point. It might make sense for us to create a new External Auctions section for paid accounts that show up under New Posts. If that's something you'd like and would pay for, please create a new thread for that suggestion, and we will look into it.

newbies trying to flip crap domains as trade, using "wanted domain" threads
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We have added a rule to formally disallow it:
If it happens again, please report it so we can inform the member it is not allowed.

Thanks.
