Hey,

Something that i have noticed a lot in chat recently is "low blow spamming" this is when for example Mr A says: "selling PR5 textlinks $20 m/o" and then Mr B says: "$20 m/o? i'm selling PR5 textlinks for $5 m/o", even if they've allready done their hourly spam.

Quite a lot of things cover "low blow spamming" and people are getting rather crafty when it comes to getting in an extra spam. eg; they say "I was only asking if anyone has any jobs available for me i wasn't advertising anything" when it was technically advertising/spamming and it quite frequently happens after they have done there hourly spam.

I wouldn't mind knowing what the rest of you think about this? it's a tad annoying.

I have stopped doing this. I learned from my mistakes and I understand what you mean and I feel the same way now that I know what I used to do was wrong. But hey we all learn from out mistakes right.

I mean cant you add some coding to the chat script here that allows you to not enter a url until a different time or something like that? I am sure there is I am it is the internet.

I doubt RJ would do that, as some people may genuinely want or need to post urls which arent in anyway connected with a spam.

Modifying RealChat would be too much work, and not worth while.

Though, i don't think this sort of advertising should be allowed.
It's similar to sales crashing, in a way. (Imo)

Well why dont you have it set so you can only put a url if its been 1 hour or more and only one or you get a warning from the sever or something like that

I'm not sure if that would work or not, it would probably need some fine tuning, but as hitch said, modding realchat won't be an easy task. it may just need is some clarification in the rules at least then they wouldn't be able to deny it's a spam if you know what i mean.

Well then the rules will need to be put to action. I mean if you are going to enforce rules make sure they are enforces and not abused
