Spaceship.com recently launched a new Marketplace section, and as NamePros has given me the go-head, I think the company deserves its own thread for NP domain marketplace users to converse in.

https://www.spaceship.com/sellerhub/

Personally speaking, I will be setting up a new Spaceship.com account this weekend and going to work investigating its various features, options and policies.

Spaceship newbie here.
What is the linking to external accounts for the Brandstore? I created a Brandstore account, but don't see a link on my Spaceship landers to my Brandstore.

Also, the same names I listed at Spaceship, I imported into Brandstore. The names are using Spaceship nameservers. They are Pending Verification in Brandstore. That won't work if I have to change NS or add TXT for each application (Spaceship and also Brandstore).

Once you sell a domain, you provide the payout details to their representative.

Manually? Each time? There's no place in the Admin section to enter these details?

Does Spaceship have a marketplace search? I know you can search for domains by typing in a specific one. I'd like to be able to get all available domains on SpaceShip and filter it down based on what I'm looking for - BIN, extension, number of characters, etc.

Spaceship response:
At the moment, sellers are required to provide their banking information each time they complete a domain sale on SellerHub. We donโ€™t currently have the option to store payout details for future transactions.

They're working on BrandStore.com (Beta)

That's pretty darn ridiculous. I'm not comfortable manually handing over my bank account numbers and routing numbers. Why would they NOT have the option to store payout details??

Wait... when we sell a name, do we transfer it to Spaceship's account? Or to the buyers account?

This is a good question. We have to ask somebody that has sold a domain on the platform. I think somebody said the buyer can choose the registrar they want the domain transferred to. You may not have to transfer it to Spaceship.

Yeah it should've been the first thing that was added. They're going to add it ASAP once LTO is released.

Yep. I'm starting to see things I don't love. I was about to jump on board the Spaceship... but I think I'll wait here on Earth for a while longer.

I have not had a sale yet at Spaceship (only a small portion of my domains have been added) but I have a question:

When a buyer agrees to an offer price, does the seller get notified automatically of the pending transaction, like on Dan or Afternic?

I ask because Atom's self-brokerage system does NOT notify sellers of a pending transaction until *after* the payment has been received, which can take days or even a week or more, depending on the company and its processes.

I really dodged a bullet the other day on Atom , as I was in a negotiation that had gone quiet for a few days, and I was literally trying to figure out the correct counter offer when a "Congratulations XYZ domain has sold" email arrived from Atom. It turns out the buyer had agreed to my first offer right away, but it took 3 days to approve and send the payment. Whoa!

That really weirded me out, as I don't see how you can negotiate in the dark like that, potentially shooting yourself in the foot by sending a lower counter to a buyer who has already agreed to buy at a higher price. It's not as bad as using Escrow.com through Atom (which can take weeks) but it still feels like I'm hamstrung while walking on egg shells.

emails I've got:

1. Offer accepted ("From this moment the buyer has 7 days to pay.")
2. Buyer paid ("It may take up to 24 hours for us to verify the legitimacy of the purchase.")
3. Payment verification completed for [domain]
and then transfer&payout emails

That's kind of nuts.

And don't make a mistake or someone else gets your money.

What is "BrandStore"?

In a Login form, is option to login with Spaceship or Namecheap.

Exactly. Then let the headaches begin.

I don't like this at all.

Still can not understand the procedure

When a sale, we add payout details for specific sale, ok so far

Then need to transfer name to buyer directly (with push or auth) or to spaceship?

As in EU companies (i assume at other as well) for every incoming amount need to make an invoice (even if buyer does not ask for one that is the usual, just for fie/accounting), who we invoice? spaceship? I assume we do not have buyer details, organization, tax id etc right?

Also what details of seller are shared with buyer?

Very confusing so far
