Spaceship.com - Marketplace Thread

Spaceship.com recently launched a new Marketplace section, and as NamePros has given me the go-head, I think the company deserves its own thread for NP domain marketplace users to converse in.

Personally speaking, I will be setting up a new Spaceship.com account this weekend and going to work investigating its various features, options and policies.

But if you get one sale a month more from this channel, why wouldnt you. Same reason people list on SEDO as well. Or Atom.

I wasn't saying not to. @alcy was curious as to why @DomainRecap was promoting Spaceship vs any other marketplace (which is a fair question since we can learn from DomainRecap's insight). When Alcy asked
why Spaceship is better or special you said "Because Spaceship/Namecheap it's the second largest registrar overall now." I was simply pointing out that GoDaddy is far ahead of the other registrars. There's not a huge difference between 2nd or 3rd or 4th place, so Alcy's curiosity is valid. That's all there was to it.

That makes perfect sense.

For me, the direct reason to list all my domains via Spaceship's SellerHub is to ensure they continue to appear in Namecheap's registration path, even after Afternic domains are no longer shown there. Namecheap gets lots of eyeballs, and these eyeballs will come at the expense of (will no longer be part of) the monthly traffic Afternic receives, or claims to receive, through its partner network of leading registrars (the exposure claims).

I didn't have a Spaceship or SellerHub account yet, and I created one this week. I continue to list on Afternic, Atom (landers), and Sedo, as well.

In case anyone working for Namecheap / Spaceship is following this thread...
After listing on Spaceship your domain gets shown twice on Namecheap, with different prices.

Once from Spaceship with full list price (the "Buy now" button redirects to https://www.spaceship.com/domain-search/?query=xxx)
Once from Distribution Network / Afternic / Sedo with Namecheap lowered price ("Add to cart" button)

This should be fixed IMHO.

Within 48 hours of pushing the name. Fast payment but not when I pushed to them as I thought it would be.

Payout setting: They don't have a payout settings page yet. Here's how they do it:

Camel Casing: If you add the domain with Camel Casing, it works. Option to change existing listing is coming soon.

Now you can change it anytime by selecting the domain. The side panel now allows for casing.

since namecheap is mls partner w/sedo, will spaceship be partner with sedo too?

and if so, will it be necessary to list there?

Sold 6 domains through Spaceship so far. Almost instantly lands in account credit, longest it's ever taken to withdraw is 7 hours. So less than 24 hours comfortably.
