just found out some people list unregistered domains at sedo and afternic which have never been registered before. When I regged, I could not add to the my sale portfolio because it is already listed by others.
These guys usually bet on those 3 letter domains and list all the availible ones and when somebody offered a price, he simply reg it and by that means he saves himself a lot money.
HOWEVER, i think it is against rules. What do you think?

Well from what I know sedo usually verifies ownership of a domain they list for sale..

Yes sedo checks, My domain was on hold because I was just framing the domain to their servers not using their nameservers. And because I use Whois privacy protect on the domain they could not verify by email. I had to change the nameservers.

Yes, sedo do go through a verification period to make sure you are the owner of a name ;)

Not necessarily the case ..... These domains were probably listed by former owners and never removed by sedo etc .... Happens a lot when you buy something to park as well -

It is possible to register a name with Sedo while using Whois and just using url forwarding. You just need to send Sedo an email from your domain admin address in response from the sedo enquiry in the verification process.

The whois privacy protect I have, shows a redirect email, so they cant see my email but can contact me because it forwards the mails to me. Check the whois for rlcmedia.info, or org

Therefor I cant email them back from that email address since its just a redirect... I tried and they mailed back saying that they cant verify it.

just copy and paste the request message from sedo and send it from the admin address you are using for the domain...this seems to work, even though using Whois feature....

It is not surprising to see that some domains are listed yet they are not meant to be there. I had this issue once and had to contact Sedo back and forth for the verification process. Does Sedo update its system every so often to check for unregistered domains that should be removed?

I have some experience about this. all4cost and mellowmasher are right about this. So just go list your domain name first. If it still not show in your account after 1 or 2 days, then contact their account manager. They will help you to make it work for you. But you will lose your parking revenue within that period.
