Some else owns the domain?

I recently purchased a .com.. Though the .net has been registered for nearly 3 years.. Though all it shows is parked pages.. Through the 3 years. Also, another random guy owns the .info.. Yet, it doesn't show any history on the domain.. Will I have issues? Im not entirely shore why he would buy the .net but not the .com?

BTW, the .com was registered but deleted.. no history

There could be any number of reasons why someone would buy a net and not grab the com. though It would be ill advised if you had the option of getting both. Maybe this person wanted that name and someone else already had the dot com. Instead of risking bieng raked over the coals by a domainer he may have opted for the net name. Later they guy who had the com may have dropped it or deleted it. Years back I was using an isp who had a net name and didn't own the com. For them it just made sense because they were a net business so the net name worked.

As for wether it will get you in trouble, you have to concider whether the owner of the other name has established himself a trademark or service mark. If so, you will have to use your name in an unrelated field to be safe. Furthermore, if you registered the name with his trademark in mind and an intent to profit from its word association you might as well drop the name now. Doing so means you registered the name in bad faith.
