Hi All,

I recently sold a domain registered at NameBright.com and listed on GoDaddy Buy Now. This is my first GoDaddy sale where domain is not at GoDaddy .Please help me out with the procedure..

I have unlocked the domain at NameBright and have the authorization code with me. What I have browsed over internet is that transfer in to GoDaddy requires 3 things Transaction ID, Security Code, and Authorization code . So Does that mean I need to additionally purchase the domain transfer to GoDaddy myself to get the Transaction id and Security Code?

I have received this mail from GoDaddy :
You are now authorized to accept the transfer request of [xxxxxxxxx] You will need to contact the buyer through the email buyer link in your "Sold" section. If you need to access your account, go to GoDaddy Auctions and log in with your user name (or customer number) and password.

What all do I need to inform the buyer..?

Thanks for the help!

Contact the buyer and provide them with the authorization code. Let them know that they can start the transfer to GoDaddy. When the buyer purchases the transfer you'll receive an email from GoDaddy that will contain the Transaction ID and Security code. Forward this email to the buyer.

Make sure the domain is truly unlocked before starting the transfer process, sometimes it will look like the image below. This is not a big deal, but the buyer will have to create a Namebright account to receive the domain. It saves time to do the right transfer the first time and to ensure customer trust.

Don't forget, you can authorize the transfer under Outbound Transfers to expedite the same day the buyer began the transfer. (see: https://www.namebright.com/MyTransfers#TransfersOut )

- Most importantly, make sure the privacy protection is OFF before the seller begins the transfer.

Finally, Godaddy sometimes doesn't update the WHOIS information to match the buyer's account once the transfer is complete. This means the buyer will have to manually change the WHOIS record inside their account. If you authorize the name transfer the same day, simply call Godaddy and have them verify the name is in fact there.

Good luck and congrats!

Thanks all! I replied asking them to create a NameBright Account and share its details. But they responded by saying that they`ll buy the transfer themselves , just need auth code from me . Provided the auth code and deal done!

Thanks again for the help!
