It's pointless to appraise these GreatKeyword.BackwaterTLD names. They always start popping up whenever some registrar runs a 'get-em-hooked-and-hope-they-renew" special in some TLD that is virtually untouched.

.ae might have some interesting properties, but there's a reason you paid registry fee for it, or that right now, I can go register a whole host of .ae keywords that would sell for unreal money in a more established TLD.

Great keywords though they may be, this still may be a registry fee name, barring a needle-in-a-haystack enduser in that country who's willing to pay more.

Its hardly a backwater TLD, Dubai is the fastest growing city in the world and one of the top 10 tourist destinations last year

Solar is growing there, mainly due to the amount of power they are going through and the fact they have the perfect weather for solar power

I have a list of nearly 100 solar companies in the UAE, so its not really a "needle in a haystack" - I guess its whether I want to sell it for $100 or $10,000

reg fee name unless you get a lucky sale. Theres lots of keywords to reg in these types of extensions. I used to reg keywords in bad extensions like this and dropped them all. waste of money. Might take forever or never to find an enduser. no domainers buy them.

solar panels sounds like a nice name, but you would have a little problem finding an end user for it (its an end user domain, not really a domainer flip). But nothing an aggressive marketing stint cant fix

Cant put a value to it as its not a domainer driven domain though.

Hey Krossat, yep, anyone can reg .ae names now since the rules changed. UAE is one of the top 5 fastest growing solar countries at the moment, so I think I will be holding these names for a while. Thanks for the appraisal.

.US is the domain of the richest country in the world and they dont sell .I owned alot of .US and I own ZERO now. Countrys monetary resources mean nothing to domain sales. some of the richest coutnies extensions are junk.

I think its a great name, but it is very difficult extension for appraisals... looking at you signature I guess you know this market better than anybody in this forum...

I thought that ae nic were going to take back the domains that were not intended for development.

You can get free opinions or look to the left for an expert appraisal. $5.74 US at that site for an expert apprasial. If you think it's a good name well worth it.

.COM is a world wide extension. it is not a US extension. .US is the US Country extension. .COM does not belong to the US . Its used world wide. You need to compare apples to apples. Your sayinga country code is good because its a large economy. .US belongs to the worlds largest economy and its a pretty crappy extension with little value.

all Im saying is check the majority of US sites and they are .COM, if you think people use .US in the states, you are dreaming. Just becuae its "officially" .US , doesnt mean its used a lot.

As apposed to .co.uk and .de, which are primarily used their respective countries

Germany - use mainly .de
UK - use mainly .co.uk
US - use mainly .com
