About 20 minutes ago, I won an expired auction on Snapnames. Well, almost.

Yes, that's what I realised today. You can win an auction and then not-win it.

The auction page showed "Ended" in Time Left column as it usually does. I was about to close the window, but then, the page auto-refreshed itself, and it showed 1m left with a new bid from a shady bidder id (who I have never seen before in auctions).

I noticed it in time, and placed another bid, and again .. auction continued .. Eventually, I took the name for a much higher bid than what I had won in the first place.

Has anybody seen anything like this before?

There was no reserve on this name. Almost seems like a case of shill bidding to me.

I'd question SnapNames about it. It could be a shill bid from the owner from a different username.
