SnapNames - 1 bidder, did not acquire

I was the only bidder for a pending delete on SnapNames. When the backorder period expired, the domain was showing a status of "acquiring name" in my dashboard. I received an email a few hours later saying the catch was unsuccessful.

I was under the impression that if I placed a bid on a pending delete and I was the only bidder, that I would be awarded the domain. What gives?

Advice and insight is appreciated

edit (more info): the domain contains 6 characters, is a .com, and was appraised at $115,000 at estibot (appraised higher with other appraisals).

Most likely another dropcatch/backorder service got it. Recently I ordered a name at both Snapnames and Namejet. Namejet caught it. As advised by others in similar threads, it's best if you backorder through several suppliers to cover your bases.

Obviously Snapnames are not the only dropcatchers out there, there have competition and they cannot award you a domain that they failed to catch.

I didn't get my hopes up when I found the name. I know this endeavor is full of shady, unethical, and just wrong business practices. It seems that this entity is affiliated with SnapNames from the minimal research I've conducted.

Lol - Taking.com....where did you get the idea you're the only one bidding? Snapnames doesn't show who's bidding on pending deletes.

I'm sure this domain had at least double if not triple digit bidders...not sure why you're blaming the "ethics" of Snapnames.
