SMF HELP - Recent active topics on main page (Can it be done?)

Dear NamePros,

I recently decided to go with SMF over vbulletin for my new forum that I am currently setting up. I am running into a major problem and hope it can be solved.

Is there a way to show the RECENT ACTIVE TOPICS on the main page of my SMF forum (www.tbaec.ca) ??? Preferably at the top of the page before anything else?

Please help. This is a feature I /must/ have. I hope it can be done in SMF.
