SiteGeneral.com may have violated transfers policy
Australian Domain Administrator (auDA)
04/Apr/2006 - auDA has found that Publish Media Pty Ltd (trading as SiteGeneral.com) has breached the Transfers Policy (2003-03).
During March 2006, SiteGeneral.com initiated 59 transfers from TPP Internet to IntaServe without obtaining a written request or authorization from the registrants.
auDA found that the registrants did not receive notice of the transfer because SiteGeneral.com had entered its own contact email address in the registry database instead of the registrant’s email address.
One of the main principles of the transfers policy is to safeguard the right of registrants to make an informed choice to transfer their domain name to another registrar, even where the domain name is managed by a reseller.
auDA has instructed AusRegistry to reverse the unauthorized transfers back to the original registrar of record.
