"Site" in a Domain Name

I notice many times keyword.com is taken, yet keywordsite.com is available for registration.

I have seen a couple of examples of popular sites using "site" in their domain name. As a developed web property, could keywordsite.com bring in just as much as keyword.com?

Keyword can be any word or phrase. Thanks for your opinions!

"site" is still popular, as the trailing suffix in a domain.

I agree with Biggie. Depending on the prefix, keyword"site".com can be a good domain name. A lot of it depends on what the keyword is though.
