Single words with unfortunate associations.

Single word .coms always seem to have an attraction, but what if the word has unfortunate connotations. Is it worth using them for sites? I couldn't resist "onkly", which I believe means having an upturned nose like a pig. Is it stupid to pick up names like this?

The problem is - what do you do with names like this? It's probably OK for a socio-political site, but is there money in this use?

Nothing wrong with putting up a site with free videos that makes people aware of their stupidity. Like Jacka*ss, Face book is loaded with such sarcastic materials for re-posting. lol.

I was hoping for a more general discussion about these names, rather than one about onkly, but thanks for the comments.

I'm not sure if I should sell the name, or use it to discuss modern pig farming. There are all sorts of interesting facts about pig production. For example, did you know that Canada exports more than half of its pig production?

As far as general discussion, I am picking up strange, orphaned or unwanted names too, to develop. If only Onkly was a common name, I would offer to buy it.

Lol, I am joking since I thought you said in Canada, pigs were producing something. I thought a new tech breakthrough or something. It seems lately humans are creating so much hot air on facebook that we need another mammal that actually produces something. My GF seems to want to blame the existence of Cows for global warming. Moola or Mooly would be the bovine equivalent. Moola would be best imho, but that is an active site.

names don't have to to be used based on their descriptive nature... just look at amazon, apple, donuts, etc

try to think outside the box to find more diverse uses for your names.
