I registered (a)ir(c)argo in this extension a couple of days ago.
I have received more 'web developer' phone calls regarding this one domain in the last 24 hours than I have received for my entire portfolio over the last 12 months. (Not just from the usual suspects in India btw - a couple of calls have been from the States).
Whois privacy will hopefully calm things down.

You're right, it's not a dropcatch, it's a fresh registration. I don't know the answer to your first question.

EDIT: One of the buyer is NOT Chinese. QVC was bought by an American company with the same name. They also have the .COM, so it's probably a defensive reg.
